COVID-19
Is this like when the Joker movie was going to cause mass shootings? The incels are happy these days:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/07/opin ... ntributorsAnd it is my fear, as a researcher of far-right and anti-feminist digital spaces, that continuing mass anxiety and material depression will combine with the contemporary digital landscape in an ugly fashion. As a dramatic post from one misogynist subculture, incels (short for involuntarily celibate), recently put it:
“Normies now feel what we feel all the time. Alone, bored, sad, aimless, horny, empty, desolate, disconnected from the rest of humanity — the endless drone of whining and moaning I’m seeing on the social media timelines is the hellscape we have to endure constantly all the time during ‘normal times’, I can’t help but have a huge dose of schadenfreude over this — welcome to our world normiescum.”

Definitely appears like NYC reached the apex for cases. That GA number is ugly though.
Still not sure what this says about how places that experienced massive outbreaks can get back to normal. Spain and Italy have to provide the model.

Just watched some video about that world covid tracking website.
It was some 17 year old kid in Washington, and has turned down millions of dollars from advertisers.
edit, this is his website.

They have pretty much flat lined at around 1400- 1500.Looks rough for PA too as far as new cases go.
Pittsburgh has more or less avoided outbreak, so unless that changes the PA numbers will be manageable.

He apparently turned down an 8 million dollar offer. There isn't a lot I wouldn't do for 8 million dollars.Just watched some video about that world covid tracking website.

I know this is written from a race angle, but I think it's more of a class issue, and it's also why I'm afraid that our social distancing measures are limited to flattening the curve.

Yeah, it's definitely a class issue. Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs is one area where the disparity has been especially heinous.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/07/us/c ... e=Homepage
