No. The winner is you. There were votes for cameron, sullivan, forest, and elkhttps://www.google.com/maps/d/embed?mid ... 579285&z=8
Before I claim victory, did anyone have Jefferson?

Everything is so staggered in the US. NYC appears to be just about hitting their peak daily new cases now, and I would think the peak hospital surges are 1-2 weeks from that.So almost 10k deaths in the US, which means we're only 10% of the way there...?
Then of course there's the fact that we don't know how good the data is anyway, anywhere.

Going to ask my wife about this. Don't believe itAllstate email this morning states that they are giving 15% of your April and May car insurance premiums back, presumably due to fewer accidents due to COVID.

It only means there was 10K deaths so far. No one can accurately predict the total this year when it's all said and done.So almost 10k deaths in the US, which means we're only 10% of the way there...?
And there will be deaths next year, and the year after, and the year after, for pretty much forever (at least our lifetimes) due to this virus. Just like there is with the flu and other viruses.

That's where we are with my grandma. She passed last Wednesday and we have everything on hold at this point. Most of the family is spread across the US and with traveling across state lines being discouraged, there's not much we can do.This has been one of the hardest things for me to deal with during this. I've done four funerals in the past 4 weeks and each of them has been graveside only with a memorial service planned for later.Non-COVID related death in the family. And it is so hard to not be there for people right now. I would have jumped in my car last night and been there instantly under other circumstances
Hard for people to grieve properly.

Can you say that though? Not to disagree, but our country is so big.. who's to say that isn't Chicago in a few weeks, or Orlando. I hope you're right but it's just hard to predict muchThey believe NYS is at or near the apex. Which means the USA as a whole (individual states haven’t all hit) is at or near the apex. Which would obviously be a good thing.

@LITT
The Allegheny county number is officially 642. How wide do you think the difference is between the official number and the number of infectious people in the area?
If that number is true, and that we are on to week 4 of social distancing, is it likely that there is no real spread here locally?

TDS.Also an important note, for a disease that seems to impact people very differently in terms of outcomes, it is especially nonsensical to be touting the success of a drug whose efficacy no one can determine.

I wish the ACHD would post current hospitalization numbers rather than all-time. That doesn't really help much.@LITT

Other states (outside of NJ and Michigan) weren’t increasing like NYS was. NJ depending on today’s numbers might have flatlined as well. NY and NJ accounted for approximately 50% of total new cases per day. If they are dropping by 10-20% per day in new cases, it is highly unlikely that the rest of the states will make up that difference, causing the USA as a whole to start dropping even if the majority of the states are increasing in daily new cases.Can you say that though? NJ Gov. Murphy reporting at this moment, “it appears our efforts to flatten the curve are beginning, beginning to work.”

Right. Officials have to be extremely careful how they announce good news. It's unfortunate, really, but as soon as people start to think all is good, they're going to break social distancing and all of a sudden cases will spike again.
