New York City totally screwed three areas. That city’s elected officials incompetence is having dire consequences. They are continuing to fail at every level in their management.

Looking at the numbers for Italy for the last couple weeks, looks to me like their curve has flattened pretty good. As long as they are reporting accurate numbers.

Geritol was heavily advertised in my youth. I think it came with and w/o extra iron.

At 96, Kissinger is as sharp a writer as ever.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-corona ... 1585953005
The ultimate test will be whether the virus’s spread can be arrested and then reversed in a manner and at a scale that maintains public confidence in Americans’ ability to govern themselves. The crisis effort, however vast and necessary, must not crowd out the urgent task of launching a parallel enterprise for the transition to the post-coronavirus order.

Leaders are dealing with the crisis on a largely national basis, but the virus’s society-dissolving effects do not recognize borders. While the assault on human health will—hopefully—be temporary, the political and economic upheaval it has unleashed could last for generations. No country, not even the U.S., can in a purely national effort overcome the virus. Addressing the necessities of the moment must ultimately be coupled with a global collaborative vision and program. If we cannot do both in tandem, we will face the worst of each.

I was reading similar stories from Ecuador.
I have a good friend who lives in Ecuador, he says it's basically in Guayas which has been shut down from the rest of Ecuador. People there had beach parties in the thousands to defy government orders and look where they are now. My friend says they drive around at 9 where he lives with speakers on the car warning about breaking curfew. Basically said people of Guayas ruined it for everyone else in the country.

Went food shopping today (got enough for 2+ weeks) and had more than one person come up to me and ask me to get them something from the top shelf. All wearing masks, for come on people. Grey Poupon is not worth it.

I don’t really know why but I find the clapping thing to be incredibly condescending. It’s the new “thoughts and prayers.”

In the context of that tweet, I agree. But NYers clapping for healthcare workers they see on the streets? 100% okay with that.

There was a thing last week about putting teddy bears in windows for children to count when they walk by. I was meh on that but didn't mind it. This.... This clapping thing is just stupid.

See to me it’s a way for people to feel like they’re doing something without actually doing anything. It’s changing your profile picture to have an overlay of a French flag, it’s tweeting thoughts and prayers, it’s the same ****.

There are stuffed animals in the windows of houses all over altoona. That's cool. But the teachers staged a drive around and the kids were supposed to stand outside and wave to the teachers beeping at them. they blew through stop signs like a circus funeral procession. Might have been a 2 minute line. Almost as annoying as the biker gang pansies
