I saw Rachel Levine (PA’s Heath secretary) give a press conference where she straight up said Pennsylvania isn’t testing as much as they should. She said the reported numbers are severely underreported due to lack of testing.

Everybody knows the actual numbers are much higher and these are only the worst of the worst who get tested. It shouldn't discount that even if the numbers are low, they are still showing that the doubling rate is decreasing. We should be over 500+ by now if we had stayed at the same rate as a week or so ago.

So what happens if you test negative then contract it later?I'm all for testing. I'd love to see all 327 million people in the US get tested. I also think there's something to learn from the daily infection reports (assuming that testing is low but consistent).
No matter what there always has to be some logic in who gets tested. Id much rather see daily testing for those on the front lines and none for guys like me who havent left the house for 3 weeks and have no symptoms.

GE will not pay them anything, I'd imagine.

I was also in the building on March 17th. Boooooo. I work there every Tuesday.On 31 March GSA was informed of a confirmed COVID 19 case impacting the
Moorhead Federal Building. Although HIPAA compliance requirements limit what
we can discuss, we can report that the individual who has been diagnosed with
the illness was last in the building on March 17, 2020.

Well, if you test literally everyone, theoretically you would then quarantine every single person who tested positive for 14 days or however long it takes them to recover. That would effectively stop the spread. I don't think we have that capability to enact such a strict quarantine in this country, though.So what happens if you test negative then contract it later?I'm all for testing. I got a work email like that last week about someone being in one of our buildings who subsequently tested positive.

Considering how low the Allegheny county number is, it must be starting to spiral out of control in Philadelphia.+31 cases in Allegheny County today. Cue the BuT hOw MaNy ArE tHeY tEsTiNg? questions.

Philly got hit hard right at the start and it seems to have spread out from the city to the surrounding area fairly quickly.Considering how low the Allegheny county number is, it must be starting to spiral out of control in Philadelphia.+31 cases in Allegheny County today. Probably a dumb question, but would it be impossible to play the games without the audience?
Obviously you wouldn't start the baseball season, but wouldn't it make sense to do the NHL playoffs at just one venue? Olympic style, just bring the teams to one place to have the playoffs? I imagine the TV ratings for that would make up for the ticket revenues.

TV Ratings != $
TV deals are already in place. NHL is a gate driven league. TV deals, particularly the US one, are secondary...home playoff dates are worth $500k - $2 million a pop to teams. Complete non-starter.

That's the point, though. If somebody is notified that they're positive, I have to think that 99% of them will isolate themselves. You don't need to forcibly quarantine them, because we know that won't work here. But expanded testing could severely limit the spread.Well, if you test literally everyone, theoretically you would then quarantine every single person who tested positive for 14 days or however long it takes them to recover. So again, there's no excuse to not do it.
