Ellen during the iheart concert on fox: “I hope you’re all listening to the smart people and washing your hands as well as wearing the same pair of sweatpants for 3 days in a row because you’re not going anywhere.” Or something to that effect.

I must admit, I’ve been wearing more sweats all day long now than I did in college.

First immediate family member has it - mild symptoms and they have been WFH for a whole so only their roommate is at risk. but still - I keep waiting for news of my older family members and the worry there.

I don’t care about who tweeted it. When I googled the guy’s name, most of the results looked sketchy. He posted another article about that combo being used in KC from the wsj, too.

Good news on the shipments. I assume they’ll be distributed to states immediately and not sat on.
nobody won’t stand for this. Your morals/ethic/life force are tied straight to who you link here.
No. I don’t post petty **** ITT.

Looks like it might be working or is very promising.

New cases and deaths were less today in the US than the day before. First time that has happened since the 21st.

I guess that silver lining is less flu deaths because of social distancing and washing hands?

It's probably the result of so many people at home. For example, there are going to be a lot fewer traffic accidents because fewer people are driving; can't have a construction accident if the site is shut down; etc.

Yeah. Guess the car accident thing will not be addressed till self driving cars take over. But that 7-10 thousand less deaths in a week from people just living differently is a big number. Imagine that happening for a year. I know, it will never happen, no fun.

Any time I hear about somebody dying from CV-19 who had asthma, it makes me worry even more about my wife.

I think that makes sense. Not totally sure where the 1/2 of icu admissions need vents though. The mode of treatment right now in ICU patients is to intubate as quickly as possible. So I think if you are sick enough to need an icu bed, you are very likely to be sick enough to need a vent
this is accurate

Official numbers in Japan rising dramatically now that the Olympics have been cancelled. Go figure.

This site is really evolving nicely as the outbreak escalates here in the USA:

https://covidusa.net/

Now has number of tests administered on the graph of those infected, and I'm noticing an uptick in the number of recovered cases. That's good news.
