COVID-19

Postby King Colby » Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:09 am

Source of the post I remember having bouts of uncontrollable coughing for something like 42 days
I've heard people say something to the effect of getting "knocked my ass" from getting sick. That cold is the only one in my memory that has actually done that. I would cough so hard, it would literally make me take a knee or sit down. Whatever the hell that was, it sucked.
Same man. Nothing could stop it either. The only thing that semi-worked was if I turned the shower on full heat and just sat in there for like 20 minutes letting the room steam up.

I had to stop riding public transportation because people were staring LOL

Come to think of it, that was the end of my trolley days forever

I got sick between Christmas and New Years in 2019. I’ve never been so sick on my life. I had a cough until after Valentine’s Day because I remember going out with baby meow and her saying something about how I cough all the time.

Then I tested positive in January 2022 and it was a totally different illness. No coughing. All sinus pressure

Aside from vax side effects and a weird 24-hr thing after returning from vacay I haven't been sick in........ I actually don't remember when I was sick the last time. (And the vax stuff isn't really being sick, it's just the immune response.) But in all those instances it was absolutely crushing fatigue, along w mild aches.

Still improving. Voice is better, but not back to 100%. I'm only occasionally coughing, and that's slowing down as well. Fatigue is pretty much over, and my head is mostly clear now.

I feel bad about the coughing because there have been occasions where I've scared the crap out of my cats with the sudden loud hacking as I work up a blob of phlegm.

Your cats are chest sleepers, right? Better than then them waking you up with some surprise phlegm bombs.

So... uhh... what changes? Like were there policies in place that are now over? Restrictions that are now lifted?

Also, I'm starting to really not like this world... when does the vaccine take me out?

It has more to do with funding of whatever programs were tied to it. I know my wife finally went to work this week without needing to wear a mask. It may have been tied to this, the higher ups could have known it was coming.

I know of three people who caught COVID at a small conference thing this past weekend, and another guy who went to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl knowing he was COVID+.

Why can't we have nice things like civilization?

because people only care about themselves. one of the women in my office went OFF on the guy who brought COVID in the office last month and gave it to 90% of us. he said, "I didn't know it was COVID. I just thought it was a cold."
guess what asswipe? I DON'T WANT YOUR **** COLD EITHER!

I was always on board with telling people to go the f*ck home when they're sick pre-covid. Now, even more so.

I can't even imagine being that clueless and self-absorbed. My wife has a cold a few weeks ago, and I suggested she take a test ASAP because you never know anymore.

really not trying to (intentionally) take the contrarian point on here but where's the line? do you guys take a COVID test every time you have a runny nose?

No, but if I feel bad enough that it's worth a check, I'll take a test. At least then I know I should probably avoid stores and restaurants so that I don't pass it like some dadhole who doesn't care about those things. We're talking about a few minutes of effort to take a test that most of us were able to get for free.

I think if you know you are going into a huge crowd at a public place like a concert or a sporting event or a convention/work conference or something and you don't feel great the right thing to do as a human being is to test yourself to be on the safe side.
