Yup... and once we get decade after decade after decade of knowledge building and vaccine stockpiles to deal with the variants and/or strains of COVID, it'll be very similar.

2 more people in my office are positive. one was here yesterday wearing a mask and coworkers said she looked awful. fortunately for me I wasn't in the office yesterday but if I had been I would've told them to send her home. I don't care what teh CDC says, if it's post day 5 and you still have symptoms DON'T **** COME IN!!!

Agreed... especially office staff. You just spent that much time likely working from home, and your organization probably started a system where you could still work from home if necessary. Keep your ass home.

I agree that **** is annoying but employers don’t help at all either by encouraging people come in so much. Everyone sucks

I've seen the reports of the rebound effect. Is the rebound milder?

Been looking for a vaccine for my 4 year old. Really want Moderna because it's just a 2 dose course where as Pfizer is a 3 dose course. But it seems like everyone else has been doing the same. Only thing that's available around here is Pfizer. Might wait a bit to see if we can find Moderna because my little one isn't thrilled about the prospect of a shot.

Well boys, it’s my time. Had a runny nose and a bit of scratchy throat yesterday. More of the same this morning. Figured I’d better test before returning to the office tomorrow and sure enough it was positive. Based on the timeline I figure it got me in Paris. So at least my Covid is posh.

That means you have the European strain, for which you have no natural immunity. Start smoking cigarettes ASAP.Well boys, it’s my time. Had a runny nose and a bit of scratchy throat yesterday. I also finally got my first positive this past weekend. Friday was the worst, achy legs and fever, but now mostly just a sore throat.

It is my understanding (and I want to be very VERY clear that my understanding is very limited in this area) that omicron tends to not create the b-cell memory response that the vaccines and previous strains do. Not only that, they tend to avoid the antibody response with the mutated spike protein.
That's one of the reasons they suspect that the omicron wave was high in case numbers, but lower in hospitalization rates and death rates. More people got infected, but then if you had your previous infections and/or vaccines the memory cell response kicks in. So, nocera, in the short term... yeah. You're good. The antibody response is there right now, your good for a bit, but longer term (few months or so) that response wanes and it's like it never happened. Or something to that effect. I'm not a virologist. I'm just a dumb dumb with google.

That's my plan as well. And again... I'm a dumb dumb. Don't take anything I say as gospel truth.
