COVID-19

Postby nocera » Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:39 pm

So my kids tested positive who were showing symptoms. My other son has not shown any symptoms and did not get tested. Basically, everyone is positive in the house and the school says my one son can come back with a mask (even though I'm sure he has it too?). Does that sound right?
If vaxxed then that is what the guidelines say. Those guidelines weren’t updated for Omicron though.

My son's middle school has so many teachers out, they are putting kids in the cafeteria with an assistant principal to keep an eye on them. My son was in there for 90 minutes on Monday...

So he does not get instruction, just babysitting, at a super spreader event. Cool.

Yet the superintendent won't close for an extended weekend to calm things down.

My kiddo isn’t vaxxed (can’t be yet), and got the pcr test today. She started her symptoms Thursday evening. When is she clear if it comes back positive? I’m having trouble deciphering the guidelines…

If it’s negative she’s going back to daycare the next day after we get the results.

FIL just tested positive. MIL showing symptoms. All 5 of us had the same symptoms but wife tested negative. Pretty sure all 7 of us have it due to close proximity and similar symptoms.

I've come down with runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and a bit of a headache. I'm going to assume it may be omicron and act accordingly.

5 days from symptoms onset + improving symptoms

So Friday - Tuesday in isolation at minimum

Yesterday evening I started sneezing and had a runny nose/slight headache. I took an at home test this morning. It was negative and I went to work. I probably wouldn’t have taken it, but my parents watch my son on Tuesdays and I didn’t want to send him down there to give it to them in case I was positive. I was a little perturbed that I had to burn our last at home test on minimal symptoms.

Then yes, asymptomatic and vaxxed = no quarantine but mask on

my wife has been feeling crappy (though pretty mild) since Saturday. she tested Sunday, negative. she tested today, BINGO! she's WFH so no one to notify. I work in an office that doesn't believe in WFH so I immediately told my boss I'd been exposed and he sent me home.
I took a home test tonight and it's negative. I'll test again in a few days. no symptoms as of now.

Man Omicron is running wild through 5AF.

By the way, you might as well hold off on home testing unless you have symptoms. They’re basically useless for asymptomatic cases.

Isolation... which, to be honest, isn't all that different from what I was doing anyway.

Friend of ours came over Tues and Weds and let us know Friday he now has mild symptoms and is positive. Roomie and I took home tests and negative, fwiw. Neither of us have symptoms, but...it's not like we're going anywhere anyway anytime soon.

My son and I are both fine still, he was up at 545 today. Wife is miserable, daughter has a very mild case. Really happy we got her vaccinated in early December.

Seems like a pretty clean manifestation of the republican COVID strategy
