Regarding Oneil Cruz:
It sounds like the motorcycle was riding in his lane with no lights on.

What a mess, also sounds like he was not given a sobriety test. I mean, not sure how far the country has come from el jefe, but I have a feeling the courts can be easily manipulated for favored persons. Tough call for the pirates.

Three people on a motorcycle with no lights is more common in the DR than one person on a motorcycle with lights.

More than likely true DD. "He smelled like alcohol" with no sobriety test sounds like he's going to be not getting in trouble

His international signing bonus was more than most people in the DR is more than most police officers make in their lifetime. They’ll find a way out of it.

He looks like a building block. Unfortunately, this short season raised significant question marks for bell, Newman and Reynolds.
That’s unfortunate for a lost season like this, to just stagnate roster wise when you are trying to both unload short term assets and assess younger talent.

I assume that's tongue in cheek, but also a genuine question.
That move would be both super conservative and super risky for the organization. I don't think they do moves like that, so it's hard to get over that first hurdle of it def not happening to give it much thought. Maybe if the consensus 2021 draft #1 pick was a high schooler it might make more sense, but that Vandy pitcher is not going to be in the minors for very long.

Not totally tongue in cheek. I'm slightly concerned that the Rocker and Hayes era isn't going to align with any other good players on the roster

I think it's a bit premature to make that assessment. They had a pretty stacked farm system in the A and below levels, those guys all come back a year older in 2021, to there could be a ton of breakout guys next year. It is true that, just looking at the situation at the major league level, it's nearly impossible to find anything to be hopeful about. One good prospect graduating means jack **** right now.Theyre going to be too early. I also am not convinced they take rocker. Not totally tongue in cheek. Alright, so there were some bright spots this year. Hayes is the man. The pitching looked decent, good enough to keep them competitive next year i think. Stallings looks like an actual MLB starting catcher.
Negatives - hitting was abysmal. Bell, Reynolds, and Newman struggled mightily. I think the 3 of them go 3 ways. Reynolds is closer to last year, Newman is closer to this year, and Bell is about half way in between.
If i were running the show, I'd trade Frazier and Musgrove in the offseason and shoot Williams and Neverauskas to the moon.
My starters are:
C Stallings
1B Moran
2B Newman
SS Tucker
3B Hayes
LF Reynolds
CF Alford
RF Polanco
DH Bell
I also resign Phillip Evans and play him in RF or at 2B.
Rotation is Taillon, Keller, Brault, Kuhl, Brubaker
Bullpen is Crick, Howard, Richrod, Santana, Stratton, Tropeano, Turley and whoever else
Bench who cares
That's about a 65-97 team.

The payroll of that roster would be something special, that's why I can see them picking up Archer's option, just so they don't have like a sub $50mm roster, but on the other hand, it looks like a rational move, but contingent on them trading someone like Musgrove. Cause if you add Musgrove to that rotation, considering how those last three earned 2021 playing time, that boots two of them out when I think I'd like at least 2 of those 3 in the rotation for next year.
No clue about that bullpen, I paid far too little attention to pontificate. I really don't see how the lineup is different than that you're outlining. I think maybe 3-4 of those guys are in the 2022 lineup.
