That first drive was a shredding. Etienne is so good out of the backfield.Half of me is hoping for a good game tonight. The other half is hoping OSU gets absolutely stomped.

The rule was amended 3 or 4 years ago. The premise is roughly the same as all the other things involving kickoffs and trying to reduce the high speed collisions. If you call a fair catch on a kickoff inside the 25, the ball comes out to the 25 to start. It kinda takes the strategy out of kicking it just short of the end zone and getting a tackle before the 20.I'm confused about something I've seen in CFB the last month. I guess I just never noticed it before. in today's case: Bama kicks off after their 2nd TD. ND calls for a fair catch just inside the 10 but yet the ball comes out to the 25 to start the drive. is this something new-ish? if so, WTF? pretty sure I saw the same thing in the SEC Champ game a few weeks ago.
