I wish for football to be played for strictly selfish reasons (football not cancelled+ universities open F2F = absolutely without question lower enrollment drop = greater job security for me and for the people I like). But - I have to admit that the prospect of just playing conference games is freakin' awesome. No more games against University of South Central Idaho, but every game against a big-name opponent for both of my schools (Pitt and UofA). I would not go to the games either way (two small kids) - but the prospect of being able to turn on TV to see some good plays would bring at least some joy to my pretty tough Fall semester.

I do think this is going to have some permanent affects not only on conferences (I really think Nebraska is done with the Big 10), but schedule makers.

Swap Nebraska for WVU and we have a deal.

Part of my 2020 travel plan was to go the PSU game in Lincoln in November. So much for that.

If you have to take a position in secret it's probably not the right position.

“Pushed away from universities”, Senator Sasse? So what you’re saying is that if they don’t play the football, they’re kicked out of school and/or won’t be going to class?

He would have been better off saving the postage on that letter.

So awesome to have college football.

Even better that Marshall is murdering Eastern Kentucky.

UAB takes a 22.5... I mean 7-0 lead on Miami. Love seeing them not live up to the hype year after year

Is there another thread somewhere? Or just nothing else going on except the Pitt thread?

Did you know that saving Big 10 football is pretty much just like D-Day.

There's some media types that were praising the BIG for postponing a few weeks ago and doing the smart thing, and questioning the SEC, ACC, and Big XII, which are now saying that the rapid test made all the difference in reversing course and this is great.

BS, it's all $$$$$$$$$$$
