The pick the Steelers traded away ended up being what 18th overall? (Maybe that would've been higher if the defense without Minkah wasn't able to help drag the team to a .500 record) But I'm not sure there was anyone available at that point who was a surefire can't-miss better player than Minkah had already established himself as.

Kiper gave the Steelers a C on the basis that they didn’t draft **** ass Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round and bumped it to a B- based on Minkah. That’s just hilarious.

Kiper only got two picks right in the entire 1st round. How can he grade anyone?

Basing a grade in a draft that happened less than a week ago seems silly

Fifth year option, effective for the 2021 season, exercised on Watt’s rookie deal.

Given the access everyone has to information I’m shocked Kiper still has a job and further that anyone gives an eff what he says.

I hope it was Poni he told this to

"We're always gonna watch what's out there," Colbert said on 93.7 The Fan. "It's my job to evaluate any position, any player that happens to be available. And we do that. But I can honestly say that we absolutely made no negotiation or any offer to any veteran quarterback."

A lot of national media was pointing to the Steelers as a landing spot for Jameis Winston (and somewhat less so for Cam). Was there any local appetite for that before he signed with NO?

It's a preseason game

Well, it's a preseason game, so it'll only be like four series.

Edit: What he said.

The first preseason game, why would they bother playing him?

Either way that's a soft looking schedule.

Their 10 non-divisional matchups are the AFC South and the NFC East, and the two 'extra' in-conference games are vs the Broncos and @Bills.

The stretch run is four consecutive games against AFC teams, including two divisional games, with the other two teams being in different divisions from each other. That means if they are hunting for a playoff spot (I'm penciling in the Ravens as likely tops in the AFC North) late in the season, that's potentially a lot of four-point games where they could make up or hold ground.

Obviously haven't looked at everyone's schedule yet, but that's kind of promising.

Our schedule has to be one of the easiest in the league on paper. Compared to say, Philly for example.

Actually, Philly has an easy schedule too. Looks like the AFC East has the hardest (the Pats specifically)

Going by 2019 opponent win%, the AFC North has four of the bottom six schedule strengths. Combined with the NFC East, they lockout the entirety of the bottom eight. haha

Get to 5-2 or better by bye week, would be a good seat.

8-8, maybe 9-7.

AFC south is probably the best afc division next year, and they managed to get the only good team in the afc east. Also, cowboys and eagles are probably going to be good next year.

8-8 would be a complete disaster with that schedule. By all accounts it's a top 5 easiest schedule in the league. 8-8 last year without Ben, Conner most of the season, Juju, Tuitt.. I just don't see how they don't improve on that

Tuit and Conner get hurt every year.

The line has disintegrated since munchak left, so I think the offense Is still a liability,

Defense could carry them at times, but if Dupree takes a step back that will be painful.

Eh Tuitt missed 10 games in 5 years before last year. Conner yeah, I think counting on him is a mistake. Hopefully he can surprise us and log some decent time this year

That would be even more tongue in cheek if you lived in market and were subjected to all his cancer commercials. But, don't pigeonhole him tho.
