We've got some serious wind in my area, and it toppled my grill. The firebox tore apart from the panels, so now I either have to replace the panels and hope that's all that was damaged, or buy a new grill.

Climate change may be crippling the planet; the national debt situation is untenable; the United States government may be stuck in a state of torpor due to partisanship, impeachment, and general disagreeableness; social media and smartphones are probably the root cause of society’s downfall; our sht (i.e. roads, dams, power grids, etc) is falling apart; we aren’t making enough babies; there aren’t enough new members to sustain 5af in the long run; the pirates have little to no prospect of competing within the next 5 years; and pitt super panther football is just the same old pitt.

With all that said, i think we should all take a moment to give thanks for the goodness in our lives, the inherent goodness of people, and the amazing (and i truly mean amazing) progress that humankind continues to make. The whole moral to the thanksgiving story is that Indians helped some white boys out in a time of need. I still genuinely believe that people, more often than not, are willing to lend a helping hand to one another. And i also believe that some technologies like Uber and AirBNB (even if they have had some awful side effects) have given us a reminder that we can trust our fellow man.

There are plenty of reasons to be cynical in this goofy ass world we live in, but today, i hope everyone enjoys themselves, eats well, and takes a moment to appreciate this wild and crazy world.

All beings in the c2i household are asleep except me. I get to just sit, sip a cocktail, and watch some football. Not complaining.

Not to get sappy, but this might be my favorite Thanksgiving ever. Thanks to my sister-in-law being a psycho, we decided to have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, just the three of us (my wife, six year old daughter and I). My son, against all odds, slept virtually all day in his sleeper upstairs, giving us a ton of quiet time. A ton of quality time even watching the shtty Macy's parade, my son cooed/laughed at me for the first time, and I got to take a nap with him. And now I'm having some bourbon. Best day.

I'll drink to that. I've been blessed to have some real quality time with Old Grandad and my oldest son watching this Saints game.
