Going to the Keys mid July. Any recommendations on what to see or where to eat?
Any one of the Keys in particular?
We’ll be doing the drive from Miami, but staying in Key West.
The Truman museum might be a fun visit if it's open. Otherwise, the best advice I can give is to, ahem, stay hydrated.

My folks really want us to drive down and visit them in Florida. My fiancé is getting stir crazy so she's on board. I'm not sure how I feel about it, given the current state of Florida. Thoughts?
Going next week to visit my parents; then a couple weeks later going to the keys.
Any extra precautions or just the normal pandemic stuff you've been doing?
Just the normal stuff. We’re planning to do a lot of stuff on the water, just the family. Less eating out than normal.

So, been here since Sunday and heading back tomorrow. Staying with my parents. Rented a boat one day, jet skis another day, beach day another day. Went to a couple restaurants that were abiding by 50% capacity and wearing masks. I didn’t feel like I was in harms way, or putting anyone else in harm.

I am thinking we are going to cancel our trip at end of July. It's more due to all the stops we were planning on the way out and back in the big cities. Everything just seems like an extra step or two is needed to do what we want. It's not an impossible situation by any means, just something that makes it feel less like a vacation after all the planning.

Honestly eddy, that much driving isn’t a vacation.

Bring a mask. Keys saying they will be required until 2021.
Inside, but doesn’t include restaurants and bars, so feel I won’t be wearing one that much.
My favorite bar was Hog's Breath Saloon. If it's still there nice covered
open air bar with good entertainment and food. Located at the very beginning of Duval Street.
Just saw this post... thanks. We’ll be staying just off Duval and supposedly within walking distance of everything.

I will say this... I’ve made a couple longer drives during this (Texas and Florida) and the traffic has been a breeze.

We were supposed to go to Sandbridge island, VA this week. Too many people we had going with us were high risk for Covid so we cancelled. Instead I’m drinking miller high life on my mother-in-laws deck in Uniontown.

Sounds like you equaled things out pretty well. My brother is there now, I won't share any pictures of him chugging mangs on the beach.

Booked a Scott’s Cheap Flight ticket to Anchorage in September (will be there for a week). Top item on my list is Katmai Park to try to catch the last of the bear-salmon season and then Denali. Any other suggestions?
Part of me kind of wants to get all the way north of the arctic circle but I’m not sure how worthwhile that’d be

Had to fly for a family emergency today. This is quite possibly the most comfortable plane ride I've had, outside of the fluke that placed me in first class once. I'm in extra space seats, all middle seats blocked. Everyone wearing a mask (and properly). I have so much space. And the plane is silent because no one wants to talk much with their masks on. Only annoying thing is the lack of beverage service, but all in all this is not as stressful as I was expecting.

Looking to air b and b a lake spot somewhere no more than 6-7 hour drive from pittsburgh. Anyone have thoughts on what lakes that range would cover? If a big lake like erie, where one could get a small rental on the lake.

Finger lakes would be a good spot, I concur. We got one on Portage lakes in OH with a lake house and pontoon and had a good time a couple years ago. Maybe Geneva-on-the-Lake?

Going to Hawk Mountain next week for some hiking, and hopefully hawk spotting. I haven’t hiked in an area with bears in 25+ years. Worth buying and bringing bear spray?
