Think I'm gonna be stuck in Chicago tonight. Eff

Oh, Alinea........ unquestionably the finest restaurant in Chi Town, but a meal for two there costs as much as a used car.
The Purple Pig is one of my favorites, so I'll second that one. Any one of Rick Bayless's places would be a good hit, too. I think we've talked about Publican in here recently.

I avoid ORD entirely, unless that’s my destination. I believe it’s the worst airport in the country in terms of delays and cancellations.Think I'm gonna be stuck in Chicago tonight. Eff

Been a while since I've been there but I remember the Brick District across the street from Coors Field was really good for bars and restaurants.Denver next weekend. Pens game Friday. Have all day Friday thru Sunday late afternoon. Any must sees?

I always got the vibe that Denver was just generally cool but not necessarily full of must-go places. Its almost like you just show up and its fun.

Yeah, it's basically a cool town with nice scenery. One of our contractors had an office in Centennial with a beautiful view of the Front Range and Pike's Peak, I always said it was to distract us into accepting a bad deal.I always got the vibe that Denver was just generally cool but not necessarily full of must-go places. I just can't bring myself to eat there. I know the tings that people say about it and creativity is certainly off the charts but it just seems so.....pretentious. minimum of $190 and max of $395 PP and that still doesn't include "service and tax"Alinea. tif only wishes he ate there.

I wouldn’t spend too much time in union station. It’s basically just a small station square.
If you rented a car, go to Golden Colorado and do the Coors Brewery tour.

playing in a hockey tourney this weekend so I booked a room for Saturday night. went with Hyatt because they were $25 cheaper than the Hilton across the street. Hyatt web page went crazy while I was reserving and booked me (pre-paid rate) for THREE rooms instead if one. now the local hotel GM refuses to cancel 2 of the 3 rooms. I have a call into her to discuss it directly. I have NEVER had these issues with Hilton.
any thoughts on my next step if the GM won't refund? dispute with credit card?

Give them a bad review on Trip Advisor while you're at it. They hate that.

Yeah I'd let my CC company handle it. Dispute the charge right away even before talking with her.

driving for a family trip to CO, WY and SD this summer and making a stop in KC. This is good stuff, thanksMy unofficial BBQ rankings from this trip to Kansas/KC:
1. Joe’s Kansas City (formerly Oklahoma Joe’s). Burnt ends smoked to absolute perfection, and one of the best BBQ sauces I’ve ever had. Their chicken was also fantastic. Their beans were the only downside outside of the wait
1.5. Jack Stack BBQ - and this is a very, very close second. Best beans on the planet, their burnt ends are fantastic, as are the brisket and ribs. Almost unfair that I list them below Joe’s
3. Burnt Ends BBQ. For a “fast food” type of place, compared to the others, they make some damn tasty burnt ends and brisket. Didn’t care for the sauce as much as the others, but these guys would easily be the best BBQ in the area if they opened a place near home
So, two new BBQ joints down, and one repeat visit. I’ll try some others the next time my wife forces me to come here. My daughter wanted to know why we were going to another bbq joint, lol. “That’s all we’ve done! BBQ bbq bbq bbq bbq!”
Curious to hear @CBear3’s thoughts on this.
