so Vancouver, go to Richmond for dim sum. other than that, eat anywhere and everywhere especially if you like Asian food and seafood. the last time I was there, 2014? I was able to get otoro for $8 CANADIAN.
Oh the foreign food prices! Last month, the average restaurant bill for lunch/dinner (including tip) for a family of 4 we paid outside of Prague was slightly higher than $30. In Prague - slightly higher than $50. (My friend was in Rome and said a very good dinner for one including wine would be still only about EUR30.)

The *max* we paid was about $80 - and it was in this: https://deerprague.com/en/

The first day back in the States we went for "end-of-summer" breakfast to a coffee house (https://www.arsagas.com/mill-district ). 4 breakfast entrees, 2 coffees, 2 kids drinks - $90... :(

Similar experience at this location in Rochester, which is hardly the high priced meal capital of the world.... they have fabulous breakfasts but one appetizer, 4 entrees, all crepe based, two latees, a juice and my son had a cocktail. $107 + tip.

The clubs are staying at home. I'm doing this trip with minimal luggage this time around. A lot different than my Alaska trip. Already booked a bus trip from Vancouver to Whistler with stops along the way and then an Icefields tour with a little walk along the Athabasca glacier. In a different twist, the BC Lions are at home the night I roll into Vancouver so I may get a little football fix too. Part of me wants to go over to Vancouver Island and check out Victoria but the part of me that doesn't do well on boats is still remembering the Alaska boat and is trying to tell me no. We'll see.

And @shoeshine boy, this guy doesn't do heights very well so ziplining is out of the question. =)

It wasn't in the cards for our last trip to Seattle in July, but the next time we go to the PNW I want to do a whale watch cruise through Puget Sound and meet some motherf**king orcas.

we went to the BC Lions game in 2011. it was the first game they played in BC Place since it had been renovated. I think post-Olympics they added/changed the roof or something? it was soooo much fun. Sarah Maclachlan sang O Canada. my only complaint is that at the stadium (and also at Rogers when we went to the Canucks in the same trip) seemed to serve 99% Budweiser. gross.

I cannot wait... We have some really cool excursions planned. Just need to avoid covid for the next couple weeks. Weather says it is supposed to be in the 50s

Probably different now but back in the 90s the best beer you could get at Fenway Park was Amstel Light. Nasty.

Ketchikan - ATV off roading
Skagway - Railway tour
Juneau - Whale watching and wildlife quest

I think we need to book something for the stop in British Columbia

Any recommendations for food spots in downtown charlotte?

I've never been and know nothing about the city. My hotel is going to be right by where the hornets play and I won't have a car. Ideally something in the area that won't absorb all my per diem, but be a not crowded place to get a dinner and a beer.

I just pulled it up on the map, already a bit overwhelmed by the volume of options.

Really just want to find a place with the right vibes

I was going to suggest a Guy Fieri restaurant as a joke but there isn't one. Must be all those bankers keeping the riff-raff out.

The two places we used to go in Charlotte are closed, so I'm useless as well.

heading to Nashville in October for a ship's reunion. Going down a day early so I can scratch Bridgestone Arena off my list of NHL arenas, which would put me at 8.

Any recommendations as for local landmarks, restaurants, etc.?

Ryman Auditorium is worth checking out, and it's right near Bridgestone.

Including old/defunct venues I think I'm at 7 (well, 8, but one of them was for a dog show not hockey).
