My old roommate's family lives in that area. Been there once or twice. There's a bar near a Motel 6/Super 8 in Mason that's not half bad. I think it's called Thirsty's? Otherwise, it's pretty standard stuff around there.

This place had some bomb burritos and a lot of beers. That was like seven years ago. Pretty sure they get a lot of live music if you're into that sort of thing. We went for lunch so it was quiet.

That heat will make up for all the cold we are experiencing now. Hopefully not July 4th week.

Absolutely not. Toy Story Land opens at the end of June so we definitely wanted July, but we're smart enough to wait until mid-July.

How so? Long bus rides?

4th of July week is considered their 2nd or 3rd busiest week of the entire year and parks routinely reach capacity before noon.
(In case anyone else was considering it.)

Disney is now charging guests for overnight parking of vehicles at their resorts: http://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/dis ... -march-21/
What was merely another rumor this morning has been officially confirmed as fact; the Walt Disney World Resort will begin charging their Resort hotel guests for overnight parking on Resort reservations made after March 21, 2018.

The rates will depend on which Resort guest are staying at and are as follows:

Value: $13 nightly

Moderate: $19 nightly

Deluxe: $24 nightly
My son's junior high school class made a trip there last week. Because we went just a year ago, we decided to take him out of school (all substitutes and busy work for three days) and went to Legoland Florida and spent a day at the Jacksonville Zoo. The four of us made that trip for cheaper than 3 days at Disney properties, at a discounted group rate. I enjoy Disney parks, and completely understand people who dislike them, but they are slowly pricing themselves out of a lot of peoples' budgets. But, if the market bears it... <shrug>

I figured as much. We always allow about an hour to get anywhere on property, between waiting on the bus and transport time. Hopefully it's not too bad.

We stayed there shortly after it first opened. As LITT mentioned the park transport is a bit longer, but in my opinion its completely worth it. Absolutely loved Animal Kingdom Lodge. The rooms, the architecture, the pool, having the African wildlife right outside your room. Was incredible. I'm sure the menu has changed over the years, but Boma-Flavors of Africa was **** fantastic. I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip.
