I haven't been to Pandora yet, but Soarin' is awesome. Easily my favorite at Disney.

Soarin is awesome. I love Mission Space too.
I love the extra hours, maybe once our daughter gets older. Might be pushing it at four

Extra magic hours is free to all resort guests. After Hours is an extra cost so most skip it meaning lines are even shorter. Plus I’m far more likely to stay up until 1 than I am to wake up at 6.

Family vacation for the week in Emerald Isle, NC. Like this much more than the ‘traditional’ OBX. The week has been beautiful. Less crowded and easier to get around. Rented an oceanfront duplex.
Also 47 year old fat guys should not boogie board. I’m gonna be hurting for a week, easily.

If you haven't been up to Fort Macon in a while (or at all) they have added a lot of new stuff in the last few years, it's at the other end of the island.
If you like the driving range Golfin' Dolphin' in Cape Carteret is fun, they have school buses and airplanes out on the range. They've been expanding and brand themselves as an amusement park now.

We love OBX, but we also go Labor Day week which has one foot in the off-season. Weather is beautiful and water is at its warmest. It is so easy for us to drive there (US 13, no 95 necessary), which is a big selling point too.Family vacation for the week in Emerald Isle, NC. Like this much more than the ‘traditional’ OBX. Are you referring to the Jersey Shore? No way. With how easy of a drive OBX is (I can be there in 6 hours), why would I sit in traffic driving to the Jersey Shore and be on a crowded beach with a bunch of bros and thots?I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that shad doesn’t go down the shore

We were at Ventnor Beach last month. Wasn't as bad as it is made out to be, except for the traffic around Philly. I think the beach passes helped keep the riff-raff away.

I'd rather be stabbed in the eye with needles. Which, ironically enough, is a plausible scenario in Wildwood.Source of the post You could go to Wildwood

Hmm. I've only been to Wildwood once but I loved it. My favorite part of a beach vacation is the cheesy boardwalk and Wildwood has a fantastically cheesy boardwalk. I wasn't too fond of how damn long the beach is though.

lol, we have total polar opposite approaches to vacation then (which is fine). When I go to the beach, I am going for sheer relaxation. I don't need to have a bunch of weird carnies and rickety rides. OBX has just enough (movie theater, mini golf, etc) in case our daughter gets bored or the weather isn't great. Our houses normally also have passes to the Y which is really nice.I went to OBX last year and was bored out of my mind.
There is that big new water park on the way in but I haven't been there.

I totally get why people dig OBX, it's just not what I'm into. I like to sit on the beach for a few hours and then go do stuff. OBX just didn't have a whole lot to do. I did enjoy the Wright Bros memorial, the dunes, and especially Corolla. We had a few rainy days and there wasn't enough to keep us occupied, especially compared to the super commercialized beaches we normally go to like Ocean City and Myrtle.lol, we have total polar opposite approaches to vacation then (which is fine). I enjoy a non-stop WDW vaca a lot more than a slow and relaxing beach stay.

Oh, that's coming up in October with our soon to be 5 y.o. I will need the week in the OBX in September to prepare for the five day trip to Disney Thankfully, my wife is a Certified Disney Freak and knows how to plan those trips inside and out. Should be a fun time.I enjoy a non-stop WDW vaca a lot more than a slow and relaxing beach stay.

We are supplementing our beach trip with a trip to Quebec City in September. We plan to stop at the 'Merican falls and the Adirondacks/Lake Placid on the way up, and Montreal plus Finger Lakes on the way back. Going to be plenty of hiking and sightseeing. Super stoked to see the Olympic Ice Rink in Lake Placid.
I am going to be bummed next year when our oldest starts kindergarten and we'll no longer be able to take these vacations in September. It was always fun to plan trips around our anniversary.

Hit up Au Cheval for a burger and the Little Goat for eclectic diner food. Next door to each other at Randolph and Halsted. Do the architectural boat tour. Check out the Aquarium and Field Museum if you get the time. Navy Pier is a tourist trap and a PITA to get to. Skip it.
