I'm sure there are plenty of places to get them: rocky mountain oysters
that is the one food that I have vowed never to try. nope, just can't do it.

I had them in Boulder. They were not bad. Basically tasted like fried meatballs.

Meaning, all meatballs are fried unless you’re a monster.

You don’t cook raw meatballs in the sauce, weirdo. They go in after being fried.

5afers who aren't mikey: best place in downtown philly to go for good food and a good beer list? I'll be there for a convention, so near the convention center is preferable.
I'm not a beer guy, but most of my coworkers like Iron Hill Brewery, which is right across the street from the convention center. I've had food there, and it's good, albeit a bit pricey. That's if you want to eat at the same place you drink. If they're separate, Reading Terminal Market is one block away.
I went to Philly in 2011 for a conference and ended up at Brauhaus Schmitz on South Street - great food, excellent German beers (naturally). It’s been a while, but the reviews are still good. Not a far walk from the convention center, IIRC.
There is another German beer and food place on 13th and Chestnut called Brü that is supposed to be pretty good.

Monks Cafe is great place for Belgium beer but is on 16th and Spruce, which is a bit of walk from the Convention Center.

My only memory of Brauhaus is how insanely overpriced it was.

I went eight years ago (actually, almost to the day) and I don't recall it being overpriced. Then again, I wasn't paying for it.

Anyone have experience with what is the best beach, affordable, near Jacksonville, FL?

Hotels are not bad at all in St Augustine and it looks like there's a good bit to do down there. I've never been to Atlantic Florida but we're only 4 and a half hours or so from Jacksonville. It's not really that much further then going to Myrtle and is actually closer than going to some of the North Carolina beaches.

The Jacksonville Zoo is pretty cool. Even has riverside dock access.

Read that earlier, but that only applies to direct flights from specific CA airports (the only airports actually approved, as of right now). If I wanted to use them, I'd have to book two separate itineraries - one to CA and back, and another from CA to HI.

I did that when we went to Italy. booked JFK to Milan on Emirates and then booked ATL to JFK separately on Delta. minor PITA but for the money we saved, totally worth it.

as part of my trip out to Cali (going to the US Open at Pebble) I'm planning on visiting Yosemite for 3 or so days

it seems like camping is ideal. I know reservations are hard to come by, but if I did find one, would you recommend I bring my own tent/camping stuff (would probably have to pay for it on the plane) or just renting stuff out there? My tent is nothing special, just some Walmart junk

also any other tips about Yosemite would be appreciated since I don't particularly know what I'm doing

Have you ever been to Monterey before? Are you staying in the area?

No and yes, kind of. I'm staying in an Airbnb in Freedom whichis ~40 mins from Monterey with no traffic it looks like. Friday and Sunday if that weekend are my golf days and Thursday/Saturday are my exploration days. Definitely going to explore the coast line
