I haven't stepped foot inside an Acme in years, but my mom used to buy her Italian bread there, and it was phenomenal. They stopped baking it a few years back, though.

The ones in the burbs (like Paoli) are decent.

Took Megabus to NYC in June think it was 80 bucks round trip. Prices do fluctuate often gotta keep watching for them to drop.

So, we're booked on Singapore Airlines SFO-SIN. Probably going to take Korean Air back from Hanoi; they're a Sky Miles partner, so I signed up for Delta's FF program and got their AmEx card to get things rolling.

There are, like, thirty Ray's Pizzas. They all claim to be the original. But the real one's on 11th.

A shout out to American Airlines:

On our flight to Yellowstone last month, our flight was delayed from PGH to DFW which resulted in us missing our flight to Jackson Hole, WY. American put us up in a hotel that night plus food vouchers for dinner and breakfast the next morning. This after trying all they could to get us on another flight including trying other airlines. Was also surprised they didn't lose any of our baggage, as the situation was ripe for it.

I was peeved at our hotel that we were planning to stay in the night we missed our flight due to their unwillingness to reimburse us for not being able to stay. Completely not our fault there was a mechanical issue with the plane, but I guess the $265 was more important to them than any goodwill. I won't go into the rental car fiasco but needless to say it was stressful.

Fast forward to yesterday as I decided to write American an email to see if they would do anything to reimburse me for the lost hotel expenses. Didn't expect anything, but thought it worth a try. Today I get 3 emails: 2 for my wife and son where they each received a $300 voucher for a future flight and 1 email to me apologizing for the inconvenience and awarding me 15,000 miles.

Big props to AA.

Yeah I was reading that and thinking AA should pay for the hotel, not the hotel.. Glad it semi-worked out in the end.

Central Park South is a solid option on their bidding map...if you go for a 3 star and up hotel, you will likely either get the Park Lane Hotel (which is a nice spot on 59th), or the Hilton at 6th and 53rd. One advantage of the Hilton, it's right next to the famous Halal Guys stand:

That’s the Hilton Midtown. I’ll be there 12/12-12/14 for work. I know the Halal Guys place well.

I don't see the appeal of Butler County.

One of the other paralegals in my department is married to a Valencian lady. Have you been there before? What's the appeal?

Been there a few times and love it. Put simply - very simply - Valencia is like a more relaxed version of Barcelona with fewer tourists. And not as many Michelin stars. ;)

@DigitalGypsy66 and @nocera: Thanks for the notes on Soarin'. It was easily the best ride at Disney, even despite my daughter's initial screaming reaction of "WHY DID YOU TAKE ME ON THIS?!" (which later changed to "THAT WAS GREAT!").

Got back yesterday afternoon. You're probably wondering about Pandora? I've got bad news - it was oppressively humid and hot the day we went to Animal Kingdom, and we didn't make it past noon before we called it a trip. We basically skipped half of the park, including Pandora.

As for the rest of Disney, it's just not my thing. My daughter loved it, of course, but I could definitely go another 20+ years without revisiting.

Soarin’ certainly was. It was a perfect 5/7.
