What I am really looking forward to is the cousin that is getting married is half Malaysian, that side of the family is coming over as well. They offered to cook one of the nights :D
Yeah, you will do well here. :thumb:
Man, I'm really excited for it. Her mom has made some fantastic meals for me in the past. I've eaten an fish eyeball, and a ray because of her. I hope to be able to cook with them, or at the least learn a thing or two from them.

Deep-dish pizza is more faithful to traditional pizza than supermarket "gaijin roll" sushi is to real sushi.

Deep dish casserole is okay if you go to the right place, but I'll take NY style pizza over it any day of the week.

Speaking of which, every time I'm in New York I have to stop by my favorite New York pizza joint. .

Gotta be honest, I used to go to Sbarro all the time on the PATP on my way home.

Sbarro at the mall was a frequent stop.

But in NYC, John's on Bleecker.

So we went on a field trip to a knife shop in Kirkland yesterday. Driving across the Evergreen Bridge towards Medina, our host pointed out "That's where Bill and Melinda Gates live, and Jeff Bezos, and Steve Ballmer had a house over there, Nathan Myhrvold is around the bend". It's a 3-mile stretch of shoreline that only has like 7 houses on it. The play is (and this is common in certain neighborhoods like this) for a certain person to buy an house in the area they want to live, and not take occupancy. They then, sometimes over the course of many years, go around and buy up many of the neighboring properties, until they own something like six or seven contiguous lots. They then knock the middle two down, and build a 10,000 sq ft mansion and residential compound, and install close employees in the properties alongside (head of security, personal assistant, etc).

This Residence Inn in Bronx is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in, and definitely the nicest Marriott.

How viable is Uber at 4am on a Saturday to get from the North Hills to the airport?

I ended up scheduling it. Turns out that with Uber the scheduling doesn't really do anything, drivers are not allowed to pre-claim a scheduled ride (you can with Lyft). So my request went live at about 5am for my 5:15am pickup and I ended up not getting a ride until 5:40am. I got lucky and snagged a guy who was coming back from Ubering a guy to Erie from Pittsburgh (wow).

The upside, I guess, is that I got a $10 voucher since my ride was late, which I used to tip the guy.

Things to do in Cleveland in December?

Signed up for A Christmas Story race on December 1st, and will probably hit up a Cleveland Lake Erie Monsters game the night before. I know I have relatives somewhere out there on my mom's side, but I have literally zero contact info on them. They may not be in the area anymore. They might not even be alive.
I was going to recommend the Christmas Story house. Though keep in mind only the exteriors were filmed there. Monsters games are fun. RRHOF is definitely worth visiting if you've never been. Tower City Center should be decorated I think, though last time I went there it was depressing.
Great Lakes Brewery
So it looks like I'm crashing in the Bumpus' House the night before the race. There was a contest about a random person being picked on Facebook and I was the winner, which really makes my plans of travelling easier since I'm close to both of the places that I want to visit.

It ended up working out perfect for us. We got to the gate about 3 minutes before our group was called.

Just wanted to share, if you need a ride at an odd time, and time is of the essence, consider Lyft over Uber.

Mrs Tif and I have wanted to do a long weekend trip to NYC and we have a list of restaurants we want to visit. It's like 20+ places, so our 'long weekend' is more like a month.

If I had to pick just one, it'd be Le Bernardin. That's probably a bit more spendy than you're talking about, so maybe look into Momofuku Ssam Bar.
