We still disagree on this. I thought it was just okay.

I have some very specific-to-me special memories of that place, so perhaps that colors my take.

One of the issues I had with it was the state of some of the tanks. Visible scratches all over the larger ones, bad algae blooms in some of the smaller ones. It didn't look like they were doing a good job keeping up with maintenance.

Looked at going to Belfast to see Genesis in November. Round trip flight from CLT, two nights in a hotel was $900 or so. Tickets for the concert? $500 each lol.

I'm assuming this isn't even front row? I realize that a Genesis reunion is a major deal but I really don't understand how bands justify charging this amount per ticket. does the $500 include fees?

$500 for Genesis? Not gonna lie, I'd pay it.

I don't think I've ever attended any entertainment event that would be worth $500.

These are special occasions. I still regret not going to the Slayer Farewell Tour to see them one last time.

I didn't dig around much, but the tickets had a $2 fee (or maybe 2 pounds sterling). I haven't been to a major concert in years in the States, but I know the fees were ridiculous in comparison to that. Or the UK ticket brokers build in the fees to the ticket prices.

I'm not even sure where the tickets were located, tbh. It's a smallish arena though.

I was very impressed with Genesis 2007 setlist and level of performance. I don't want to see Invisible Touch live, so hopefully they play the older stuff as well.

Looks like the LAX/OGG leg of my flight was just changed to an A321neo. This will be my first time on one. I'm surprised that it has taken this long to get them on this route, too.

I got to see Genesis front row their last time through Philly.

Great show...I snuck down from the 1st level to the floor and nobody said a word.

It's looking like a real possibility that our vacation this summer - our 10-year anniversary where our parents are joining us for our vow renewal - is cancelled. We have until late April to cancel our reservations and reboot, but with all of the uncertainty surrounding Coronavirus, I'm not sure what we're going to do here. I thought things might get better by June, but every day it just looks work. I could try and push the trip to September, but even then, I'm not sure if this will be resolved. If I cancel the flights, AA is basically forcing me to rebook before 12/31. I stand to lose a lot of money over this.

Edit: AA's policy only covers travel dates through the end of April. I imagine this will be updated in the near future to extend into the summer.

I wonder if going to a beach house - and doing takeout and staying away from large gatherings like restaurants or movie theaters - would be OK. We’re booked for HHI in early June, and have a very late cancellation date, but still...

Wife and I were planning to do the beach the first week of April. Then her school switched her spring break from Easter to thisnweek, with no notice.

We have a lot of control over the house we stay in so we felt we could still enjoy all the outdoors things we do down there and stay safe in the home. Oh well.

Was supposed to go to Colorado for spring break in April. Never been before. All the resorts are closed now, and looking like no way that happens. Kind of a bummer.

I don’t know if the whiny ass airlines are jacking up prices in an attempt to make up for lost revenue, but last night we decided to take a cursory look at flights to Mexico City around Christmas and the prices are at minimum three times the highest I’ve ever paid. Flights with a layover less than eternity are running at 2 grand per person. Price gouging mother ****.

And they're likely going to be bailed out, continuing the cycle. We'll still get **** in the end.

I'm still unsure of what to do right now. My current plan is to wait until late April to see where things are before cancelling our trip to Maui this summer so that I can rebook my units for later in the year (to either use or just rent out). If I cancel now, I have a better shot at getting more preferred times, like Thanksgiving or Christmas. This is the trip that our parents were joining us for so that we could renew our vows on the beach we were married on, which makes this even more painful.

We are supposed to fly to Canada in late July for my wife's best friends wedding... that seems like it could possibly not happen at this point who knows.

We don’t know what to do either. We could rebook our European trip for August/September, but things might still be **** around that time. Tickets in that timeframe aren’t great (probably people with the same idea), but I don’t want to rebook and waste our one free change.

AA is still being NTP66s about giving my MIL a refund on her flight to Pittsburgh. Said the only way she’s getting a refund is if her flight is cancelled and apparently closing the US-Mexico border is only for crossing the border by vehicle and there have been zero reductions in flights between Mexico City and the US.

That is some catch 22 level irony right there.

As expected. I've seen people in the AA sub on Reddit say that they were able to get refunds, or even vouchers that expire past 12/31/20 by calling AA. I'm going to be in the same boat soon enough, having nearly $5k in flight costs that ideally I want to be refunded for. Vouchers won't last long enough for me to get the full value. **** the airlines.

Hilton HHonors is extending 2019 status until 3/31/2021 and 2020 status through 3/31/2022. Sweet. Glad I got that last stay in last year to get over the DIamond finish line.

I've ordered through Goldbelly in the past, and may do it again now that I found out that Joe's KC is on there, and I can get burnt ends and sliced brisket delivered right to my doorstep: https://www.goldbelly.com/joes-kansas-city-bar-b-que
I grabbed the 5 meat sampler from Joe's... I've only tried the smoked turkey so far but it was awesome. I'm really looking forward to the others (brisket, sausage, pork shoulder, Smokie Joe [brisket + pork in bbq sauce]).

Planning at some point after the quarantine ends to have my sister make some jalapeno cheddar biscuits to eat the Smokie Joe on.
