Source of the post We were also dumb and forgot until the other day that we had to re-pick our seats since they switched flights on us. Thankfully we still got seats together.
Oh yeah. I create a reminder for every Monday to check our seats for this reason alone. Airlines don't need to notify you of any changes outside of 30-45 days from departure. I almost found that out the hard way back in 2011 on a trip to Maui. They re-seated us and had my wife and I separated by like 10 rows. Caught it in time and got us back together.

I love when airports have a monorail or people movers. I especially like the people mover in Orlando. Feels like the first ride of the WDW trip.

Source of the post I know DFW has a monorail and everything
Say what? An electrified, bonifide, six car monorail?

Not to get all tif on you, but it's technically an APM (Automatic People Mover) with rubber tires like a bus on a dual track. Monorails use a single track.

Definitely. And while this isn't the correct thread, walkers need to stay to the right and keep their bodies and bags away from the left side. **** clowns.

On a related note.. we haven't packed anything yet. We did get the suitcase out the other night and are determined to get a weeks worth of clothes that we need into one suitcase and then have a carry-on. We keep saying every night we should pack some stuff and we just put it off haha.

Friday night around midnight I see us filling up that suitcase.

Be prepared to go through multiple inspections of your carry-on items leaving Hawai'i, BTW.

we're going non-stop on Delta from ATL to HNL, then staying the night in HNL (hitting Pearl Harbor the next morning) before going inter-island on SW the next afternoon to Maui.
I was originally looking to stop in LAX before going on to OGG but the seat layout for ATL>LAX>OGG is 3&3 (757) while the seat layout for ATL>HNL is 2&3&2 (767). for the same price it seemed like a no-brainer.

Don't try to bring fresh fruit on to your return flight.

Looking to find some other hikes to do besides DiamondHead(which we will do). We are doing pearl harbor for sure, and we have passes to the Zoo and Aquarium so I know we will do that. Other than that... just gonna kinda see where things go.

Just go to the North Shore, hit up a shrimp truck, crash the pool at Turtle Bay, drink from a fresh-cracked coconut, and revel in how wonderful the world is.

I feel like we have passes already based on some package my wife bought. She is going to be disappointed in the aquarium I take it?

Download the All-Trails app. It'll give you all the trails in area with difficulty rating, sights to see, etc.

You'll see everything there is to see in about 30 minutes. I don't recall seeing anything spectacular that I couldn't have seen at the Pittsburgh aquarium. I just remember thinking that I could've been spending my time seeing something truly unique.

Gotcha. If that is the one disappointing thing we end up doing while there I will consider it a success.

Hey if nothing else, make sure you take the cheesy green screen photo. For as little as I felt I got out of that visit, the hilarious photo of me and my fiancé standing in a tiny rowboat pointing at a dolphin jumping over our heads is one of my favorite souvenirs.

Don't skip the aquarium, especially if you already have tickets. They have some really cool endemic species on display, including an ultra-rare Peppermint Angelfish. You'll get through the aquarium quickly due to its size, which is why I mentioned doing that and the zoo on the same day in the past.

Diamond Head is a fantastic hike, and the view is absurdly gorgeous.

I'm sure we spoke about this before, but I'd also suggest snorkeling Hanauma Bay if that's your thing, just be extremely cautious of the tide and where you snorkel.

+1 on the HNL aquarium. Not the greatest you'll ever see, but I enjoyed it

I might be wrong but I believe Tif and NTP have been to Hawaii multiple times. In that case, I can see how the aquarium would be on the list of things to do. As someone who has only been once and will likely never return, I didn't find it worth my limited time on that island.

True, and I totally understand that. My reasoning is that since you can get through it quickly, you're not really using that time poorly, especially given the location. You could hit up the aquarium, and then stop at one of the beachside spots for lunch on your walk back to the hotel.

Been to HI 4x, twice each to Oahu and Maui. First trip (Maui) was, believe it or not, actually for work. So my second trip was really my 'first', and it was my first time there w future Mrs Tif; that's when we went to the aquarium.
