We are headed to Tusker House tomorrow. They told us we could park at Grand Floridian for our tea party this afternoon and just monorail it from there to MK. Big if true. I absolutely hate getting into MK.
Who is "they"? Disney has been cracking down on guests parking at monorail resorts that aren't staying there. You can say you're there to eat but they may only give you a limited time parking pass so you risk getting a ticket/towed. I'm assuming you're not staying onsite?
I think they are just charging you for parking at resorts now.

There's definitely a charge if you're staying at the hotel. I'm not sure if they charge for restaurant only parking though.

So we did the event at GF, and the guy said we could do it if at parked valet. Bear in mind we already have the parking (which they do charge you for now at the resorts) built into our trip package.

It was nice not joining the crush of people trying to get back to the main lot later, but annoying in that GF is the fourth stop on the monorail coming back. Animal Kingdom for the last day today...we have Flight of Passage FPed. I think my wife did it like two months ago lol.

I FP'd everything at the 60-day mark, the earliest possible. It's the only way to have a shot at prime times.

My wife is a planning goddess. If I was in charge of this trip it would have been terrible

I'm the same way. I basically plan out each day 6+ months in advance (for most vacations), and it has worked out quite well for us.

Really smart of her to not only reserve the FoP at 60 days, but also scheduling it for the last day of your trip so you're more likely to get the fast pass. Fast pass opens up 60 days out from your first day, so you schedule the hardest to get passes for your last day as less people will be going for them. If you have a 6 day stay, you can schedule that last day pass 66 days out.

Let me know what you think of FoP

Hah she even mentioned that when we were about to get on... Sounds like you know all the angles too. Made this trip 100x better.

FoP was amazing... Wow. That is one of the most immersive, visually astounding rides I've ever been on. Everything down to the touch of the (bird thing) breathing beneath you. I could have ridden that a hundred times.

It worked out great because we went straight to Pandora in the morning and did the river ride which was only a 30 minute wait when we got there. That was also stunning... The animatronics have come a long way since Small World, wow. But we had Pandora knocked out early.

Our daughter rode every ride in the park over the last five days except for the few that require more than 44 inches. She wasn't the biggest fan of Expedition Everest, lol. Love that ride though.

Are you old enough to remember "Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger" skits from the old SNL?

It's based on the Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago where, when Belushi and Ackroyd would eat while with Second City. It's a franchise now, but the old one on Lower Wacker is the oldest.

Portillo's Italian beef is great. Didn't have a Chicago dog from there, but Chicago dogs are generally good from anywhere. You looking for fancy schmancy?

In the world of unexciting travel, I am meeting with medical residents (recruitment visit) at a hospital in the Bronx on Monday morning...this place is in the middle of effing nowhere, thank God I found a hotel that is nearby. Never like doing overnights for work but beats driving up there Monday morning for an 8:30 meeting.
