hahaha. this post reminds me ofQFT. It amazes me how slow people drive. Like they literally drive so slow it adds an hour to a four hour trip. It’s you Pennsy bastids doing 65 in the left lane that gum everything up. 75+ in the left lane or GTFO!

Flight 427 is still my baseline for the worst case scenario when my mind wanders on takeoff. That was all the way back in 1994 IIRC - I've probably flown 40-50 times in the past two years lol.Well this isn't really helping...

Yup, that was the flight. My dad was terrified because we were flying to Disney that first week of November lol.Flight 427 is still my baseline for the worst case scenario when my mind wanders on takeoff. That was all the way back in 1994 IIRC - I've probably flown 40-50 times in the past two years lol.Well this isn't really helping...
This also gets me, didn't feel anything:
As a result of the severity of the crash impact, the bodies of the passengers and crew were severely fragmented, leading investigators to declare the site a bio-hazard, requiring 2,000 body bags for the 6,000 recovered human remains.

Just watched the video on CNN, which listed 11 people dead. I'd never go out in one of those, and I'm not sure why that one was on the water given that there were severe thunderstorm warnings at the time.Source of the post Just saw a ducky tour boat sank in a freak storm killing 13 people.

I went on one in DC and I thought it was ridiculously sketchy. I'm not a fan of water being like 6 inches from the lip of the boat.Just watched the video on CNN, which listed 11 people dead. 11 dead, 5 still missing out of like 30 on-board. That is a terrible situation.

The duck boats in Pittsburgh always seem fine to me.
Realized that this is basically my last week home of the summer- starting the 30th I go to Delaware till the 1st, home the 2nd, vacation in OBX the 3rd-12th, work trip to California 13-17th, home 2 days then then take my kid to college the 20th-22nd. Reading that makes me exhausted.

Diggerland wasn't as great as it could have been. I'm guessing the XL part of the park is where it's at, but I'm already paying $30 a person and am not going to shell out more money.
The attractions were OK, but after a while were redundant. You get on a slow moving, reworked mini-construction vehicle, go around a track 2-3 times, and get off. I think my kids enjoyed the mist stations more than the rides. One (probably Philly) lady was swearing/complaining about her teenager to her 5? and 8? year old kids because he wasn't riding any of the rides. No kidding tattoo princess, he's a teenager. This park is for young kids.

This. There were warnings all day about the weather threat. The winds were predicted to be between 60 and 80 miles an hour.Just watched the video on CNN, which listed 11 people dead. As for the family, they weren't even supposed to be on the boat. They had tickets for an earlier boat, and missed it. They exchanged their tickets for the later trip.

I'm alive and well! We had a great time on the trip. Flights were completely uneventful. Of course we were nervous and there were a few moments during takeoff and landing where we may have held hands a little tighter but I'm sure it was nothing out of the ordinary for experienced flyers.Somebody check on @nocera and make sure that he's not huddled up in a corner with a panic attack.
The biggest news from the trip is I proposed on the balcony of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Disney is an amazing place to get engaged. We had so many cast members congratulating us, and got free desserts, champagne, and even cinnamon rolls one morning.
Side note: Pandora is incredible. I wasn't all that excited about it and I'm still confused as to why Disney would want an entire land based on a nearly 10 year old non-Disney movie, but holy **** it's unreal. Flight of Passage is one of the best rides I've ever ridden. On the flip side, Toy Story Land was disappointing. It's small, completely lacking any sort of shade, and the rides are meh.

Congrats!
I regret leaving Animal Kingdom early, as we completely missed Pandora. It was just too brutally hot and humid that day.

Congrats! I noticed a ton of very happy newly married/engaged people on our last trip to Disney in 2017. What a great idea, and Disney knows how to take care of guests for special occasions.
How were the lines for Pandora? I would imagine Toy Story Land was bonkers, but I do remember Hollywood Studios being really congested because of construction back in 2017, so maybe it's not as bad with that part of the park open.

Pandora lines were nuts. Flight of Passage was routinely above 100 minutes. The highest I saw it was 140 and the lowest was 60 - right at park opening. Toy Story Land actually wasn't too bad. Slinky Dog Coaster topped out at around 90 and the swirling saucers was much lower, 40-ish. Rock'n Rollercoaster actually had longer lines than Slinky Dog.
Luckily, we fast passed literally everything. Rode every ride multiple times except Slinky Dog and Flight of Passage and never waited longer than 20 minutes. With only two people, it's super easy to get fast passes after your initial three run out. Even for the harder to get fast passes like 7 Dwarfs or the Mountains, we just had to keep refreshing on the app to get the times we wanted. I felt bad for the people there who didn't know how to best use the FP+ system and end up waiting stand by most of the day. If you only have two people in your party, you can do a week in Disney riding every ride with little to no downtime in between and never have to wait in standby.

I forgot to mention Disney After Hours. It’s a ticketed event that cost extra but completely worth it. We basically had Magic Kingdom to ourselves from 10 pm - 1 am on Saturday. Every single ride was a walk on. In fact, when we got back to the loading station after riding Splash Mountain, the cast member asked “one more time?” And she sent us back through the ride without ever getting out of the log. If you’re worried about lines or crowds, this is definitely worth the extra cost.

There are also early morning hours with breakfast and certain popular rides opened before the main gate opens. I haven't tried it, but it sounded worthwhile to get out of the heat.

We did this at both Magic Kingdom (Cinderella’s Royal Breakfast) and Epcot (Chip and Dale’s at Garden Grill). The latter was worth it if only to be in the same building as Soarin, which is the greatest Disney ride ever created. Our wait time was all of 3 minutes, while it skyrocketed to 3+ hours around lunch time. There are also early morning hours with breakfast and certain popular rides opened before the main gate opens.
