As a friend of mine texted me earlier today "Prepare for the Derek Holland Experience, 4 or 5 years too late. Let's sign Edwin Jackson and get this over with"

Remember when Edwin Jackson turned us down because we weren't good enough and signed with the Nats on a 1 year deal at the same salary that we offered for 3 years? That was depressing because he wasn't even any good

Yes Nutting is cheap and we deserve better. But tanking just needs to happen quite simply unless spending $200 mil is an option, which we all know it isn't. For whatever reason it was fine when the Astros cut payroll to 22 mil or the Cubs tanked.. but imo fire sale is the correct way forward at this point in time all things considered
