Patriots dominate with playcalling like i used to against the computer in Madden. Or Tecmo Super Bowl. It's 85% chance of success before the snap. The Steelers playcalling is like hey we both know it's coming so man up and let the best man win. And when it doesn't work just say we have to be better. Rather than call a better play that gives our team an advantage

Tomlin and Butler...please get rid of them already.

i may be in the minority here but i am less concerned about keith butler and the defense than i am about the offense. the defense did OK with what they had. it will be difficult to stop the patriots with short fields when you are on the field for the entire game. i cannot understand the offensive game plan.

i am not overly concerned about anything that happened last night, just that it reaffirms that the steelers are incapable of competing with the patriots. it does not change my outlook on their season.

It's obvious TB reads the defense before the snap, then eats defenses alive. The Steelers were so predictable whether they were in man or zone. Why not play on that? Show man, but move into zone after the snap. Bring 8/9 guys in to blitz, but only send 4/5.

I'm with LeopardLetang - it was like we were watching somebody play Tecmo last night, and the Pats knew what the Steelers were choosing before every play.

My thought:

If you're openly saying your team isn't ready for a) prime time, b) or beating bad teams in general, and c) just generally scared to play winning football, you shouldn't be a head coach.

I agree with all of this post. Just move on to the next one.. We've done this same exact thing in an AFC championship game so I'm not panicking after a week 1 poor showing in Foxboro. If they stink at home against Seattle I'll worry

Agreed.

"It's not the scheme, it's the execution, we don't have to change anything, just play better."

Coaching is putting your players into a scheme that gives them the best chance to succeed. Not the other way around.

The standard is the standard, though; just have to flip the switch.

That field goal is the most embarrassing thing I've seen in a Pittsburgh related football game since Tyler Palko was asked to slide to his left on 3rd down to set up a better field goal spot. Field goal from the 1 when your team is down 20 is a hell of a way to get guys to quit on you.
