What's it like to have a head coach that doesn't go out of his way to show his contempt for fans, media and every player except his hand-picked and thoroughly mediocre QB? Just wondering.

I wouldn't mind the kids getting paid, but if there isn't some organization to it, it could create some HUGE advantages to the larger schools with the big alumni bases. NCAA needs to figure out something that everyone can work with before the states/players/schools go nuts.

If you've ever had to pay back students loans, you know how much these guys are already earning. Just because they don't get spendable dollars, doesn't mean they aren't being "paid" by their university.

That being said, I would be fine with college athletes making money on their own by charging for autographs, etc.

Jersey sales, too.

Yeah, you're selling a #13 Bama jersey as your main jersey product. Good luck convincing someone that it isn't meant to be a Tua jersey.

Not a fan of colleges paying their athletes a salary. Tuition is enough. Just allow them to make other money off their name.

A professional athlete doesn't get money for their jersey being sold do they? I thought it was licensed by the sport/team and then that money is spread out equally to the teams.

I honestly don't know, but I don't think Crosby gets money for each Crosby jersey sold.

The NFL has a revenue sharing model that includes jersey sales. From what I can tell, the players get a 2/3 cut of total sales and it's distributed among them. I would guess the other leagues have something similar but the NFL is the big one that pops up in Google.

Could be misreading, but I don't see why that model couldnt work in CFB especially since the jerseys are the player's likeness without explicitly being sold as such.

In essence it is when they are getting free tuition.
