LOL Tate Martell.
Martell apparently wasn't at practice yesterday either.

I'd say he's the biggest joke of a college QB since Jimmy Clausen arrived in a limo and flashed his high school championship rings while announcing his commitment to ND, but at least Clausen actually started at ND for a few years.

Hot damn.

BTW, I haven't really followed him. I know he transferred from tOSU to Miami and couldn't win the job.

But has he been spouting off or something? Recap anyone?

Crypitcally spouted off about Justin Fields before he ended up transferring to Miami. Didn't win the starting job at Miami and is now pouting and won't go to practice, probably looking to transfer again.

Apparently, Justin Fields is having trouble winning the OSU starting job as well.

First became a national name because Steve Sarkasian - then at Washington - offered him when Martell was 14 years old and Martell committed. He later de-committed from UW to commit to A&M in 2015, then de-committed from there to commit to Ohio State.

He redshirted at Ohio State in 2017, played a bit as a redshirt freshman in 2018 and then left this past offseason when Justin Fields transferred in from Georgia.

Shortly after Fields announced he was leaving Georgia and as rumors ramped up that he was headed to tOSU, Martell posted a tweet that read: "Word of advice...don't swing and miss...especially not your second time." It was inferred that this was directed at Fields.

Martell transferred to Miami shortly after Fields was granted immediate eligibility at Ohio State.

They were talking about him on SiriusXM ESPNU radio yesterday evening and one of the hosts said she interviewed him in high school as he was one of the nation's most highly-publicized recruits. Apparently Martell came off as a jackass and his parents were described as "high maintenance" when it came to his recruitment.

For whatever it's worth, Miami's long snapper Mason Napper posted a photo on Snapchat yesterday of Martell's U-Miami nameplate laying on the locker room floor with the caption "RIP The Dream". There are some unconfirmed reports that Martell had a meltdown in the locker room after being told yesterday that he wasn't going to be the opening starter, and that he was absent from practice yesterday because of it.

That **** applies to his high school career too. High school team sucked his freshman year so he transferred to a private school in Vegas and when they wouldn't let him graduate early to enroll in OSU for the spring semester he transferred to some joke of a school after the season was over, went there for a week and they signed off on his early graduation.

Thanks for the recap. These guys are easy to root against. Hopefully he ends up at Youngstown state or something and falls off the face of the earth.

Not sure they quite thought that one through.

I understand what the intent was (I'm imagining Nike apparel with a big THE in white on red) but in practicality that's never going to fly.

a fair amount of my work is with customers based in ohio. an unsurprising number of businesses, non profits, etc based in ohio have added an unnecessary THE to the their corporation's name.
