The game was meh but Boswell made all his kicks so I left happy. The free Eat N' Park burger helped, too.

I always worry a bit about undersized guys that rely on their speed to be a playmaker in college, and how their game will translate given the speed and size of the NFL. I know it was a preseason game, but test 1 was passed with flying colors for Bush IMO. He was disruptive the entire time he was out there, and maintained his aggression that you saw at Michigan. Was promising.

Can someone else please start a 2019 Stillers thread? I fear the OP has pre-doomed the season.

It has already begun.

Steelers WR coach Darryl Drake dies at 62
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers coach Darryl Drake died Sunday morning, the team announced.

Drake was 62.

Drake was entering his second season with the Steelers. No cause of death was immediately released.

“We are at a loss for words following Darryl Drake’s passing this morning,” Steelers president Art Rooney II said in a statement. “Darryl had such an impact on the players he coached and everyone he worked with throughout his entire career. He was a passionate coach and had a tremendous spirit toward life, his family, his faith and the game of football.

“Our prayers and thoughts are with his wife, Sheila, his three daughters, his grandchildren and entire family during this difficult time.”

Not really 2019 Steelers related, but ESPN has a documentary coming out on Rocky Bleier's return to Vietnam: https://twitter.com/ESPNPR/status/1161336335770275840

Need to put a pin in that. It's not on my program guide yet, but I definitely want to see that.

I’ve gotta imagine that all of the nonsense from the offseason and Drake’s passing brings the entire team together even more.

Most people don’t know WR coaches exist. Dude was a coach of some kind in college or pro football without interruption since 1983.

I knew his name, but not much else. Pretty safe to say that the players loved him.

Per Ed Bouchette’s article today, Darryl Drake went to the hospital with chest pains on Saturday. They detected no abnormalities but wanted to keep him overnight for observation. He declined and ended up not waking up Sunday morning.

Former NFL backup Landry Jones is the first quarterback to sign with the new XFL, the league announced Thursday.

Jones, 30, has not yet been assigned to an XFL team. He will be part of an eight-man quarterback draft to take place this fall.

The XFL, which is scheduled to debut next February, began sending draft pool invitations to players earlier this month. It plans to hold its primary draft in October, followed by a series of minicamps in December and a three-week training camp in January.
