Speaking of animals; I bought my wife and I tickets for an animal encounter at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Very cool and very worth it. We met the bigger of the two Masai Giraffes (Louis), talked to one of the keepers about them, and fed them. They have surprisingly coarse hair.

He was a friend of Metz's growing up - lived down the street from him. When we were first dating, used to see him/hang out with him at the bar. We were at his wedding. Haven't seen him much if at all in recent years. We were FLOORED when we saw the news. I don't think I've ever seen the guy get mad, let alone remotely violent. We've both been so bothered by it since. I don't know really what to think about it. All I know is, 1 of 3 people likely did something horrific to that baby. None of the answers is any better than the other. I wonder if we'll ever know the real story.

That sucks, sorry you have to deal with reconciling all of that. The Shaler police chief they interviewed on the news looked legitimately upset by it.
