Source of the post I’ve watched enough true crime shows to know that he and the parents off’ed somebody else, and staged the body with Brian’s stuff while he’s hiding out in the Dominican.

The remains, which were described as skeletal, were confirmed using dental records.

Now this one’s crazy. An entire family, including their dog, found dead with no signs of foul play.

Potentially, Toxic Algae Bloom caused deaths.

Turns out, it was the weather:

“This is an unfortunate and tragic event due to the weather,” Briese said.

Mariposa County authorities believe Ellen Chung, 31, Jonathan Gerrish, 45, their 1-year-old daughter, Miju, and dog Oski went on an Aug. 15 hike on the Hites Cove Trail loop. Hyperthermia occurs when body temperature rises to dangerous levels. The causes of death were determined through the autopsies, toxicology reports and investigation, Briese said.

“Heat-related deaths are extremely difficult to investigate, and I want to thank you all for being patient with us as we investigated this case,” Briese said. “As I’ve mentioned, the Gerrish-Chung family have been our top priority as we dealt with this horrible event.”

A Friedens man was taken into custody for warrants and having suspected meth after police were called to a car stuck in a ditch with a woman reportedly sleeping with a rifle in the driver’s seat.

John Pollock, 41, was arrested Saturday morning after a witness saw a car that looked to be stuck in a ditch with a woman sleeping in the driver’s seat, holding a rifle in her lap. When arriving at the scene on Helen Street in Shade Township, state police made contact with the driver and Pollock.

According to the report, Pollock appeared to drop something in the mud and hide it with his foot while police attempted to arrest him on known warrants. He continued to resist arrest, police noted, only to finally be detained and a small container with suspected meth was found on him.

Charges are currently pending.

One person was killed in an officer-involved shooting Sunday in Bedford County.

State police said Jacob Wayne Curry, 44, of Duncansville, was fatally shot after barricading himself in a residence and exchanging gunfire with police at 4:14 p.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Burket Drive, Bloomfield Township.

Troopers were initially dispatched for a check on the welfare involving a man at the residence, a police report stated.

When officers arrived on scene, Curry barricaded himself in the residence and discharged a firearm in the direction of state police troopers, police said.

Troopers said a perimeter was set up around the residence, and the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team also responded to the scene.

According to the report, Curry suffered injuries in an exchange of gunfire with state police.

Life-saving measures were performed on Curry before he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No other injuries were reported, and there was no threat to the public, police reported.

The Bedford County District Attorney’s Office and Bedford County coroner assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Curry was previously detained in October of 2020 for illegal possession of a firearm after he allegedly brandished a .50-caliber muzzleloader at the East Freedom Walmart, according to court documents.

According to the complaint, Curry was taken into custody then without contest after he was allegedly searching for an imaginary person while under the influence of drugs.

Probably should stop sending solely cops to do welfare checks.

Yeah, that was part of the rational Defund effort. Relieve them of some of those duties that probably shouldn't be theirs to begin with.

But I've seen cops fight with EMS before so I'm not sure it would matter. Generally, they're not programmed to cooperate and allow others to lead a situation.

That wording is confusing. Word around town is different. I'd hold judgement on the cops doing something wrong in this case.

A rare “flesh-eating” sexually transmitted disease is making waves online after a doctor in the United Kingdom warned that it was starting to appear more often in that country.

Granuloma inguinale, also known as donovanosis, is a genital ulcerative disease caused by the bacterium Klebsiella granulomatis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC says donovanosis causes painless “beefy red” lesions on the genitals that can bleed. These spreading, bleeding lesions led many to call the STD “flesh-eating,” although it does not actually eat the flesh as it spreads.

The rare disease is mostly found in India, South Africa and South America, but received much attention online after Dr. Karan Raj posted about it on his popular TikTok account. Raj called donovanosis “terrifying” and noted cases are rising in the UK.

Donovanosis is still rare in the U.S. and can be treated with antibiotics, according to the CDC, but relapses can occur 6–18 months after apparently effective therapy.

Gynecologist Dr. Shree Datta told The Sun that the lesions caused by the disease are a known risk factor for the transmission of HIV, and that “severe cases can lead to permanent scarring and damage to the genitals, as well as discoloration and even irreversible swelling, so this is definitely one to watch.”

She added: “Using contraception significantly reduces the risk of contracting the disease.”
