You know it's bad if they're preparing you for what they're going to release.

Yet there are still people defending the police saying it's his fault for running/fighting. I swear, for some of these people, a cop could pull over an 80 year old granny for not using her turn signal, walk up to her car, and put two bullets in her brain and these people would insist, "This wouldn't have happened if she used her blinker!"You know it's bad if they're preparing you for what they're going to release.
The blind devotion some people have toward the police is frightening.

One thing that I find a little disconcerting is the public comments by the Memphis PD chief. She's been using some pretty loaded and prejudicial language, and I wonder if there might be cause for claiming a tainted jury pool should anything come to a criminal proceeding.

All five officers were black. I'm not sure if that's going to make the aftermath better or worse
What a sickening act. I have no interest in watching.

I don't think this is going to capture the national consciousness in the same way. I think white cops killing a black guy is easier for the ~median american to understand. Cops = racist. This doesn't support that line of thinking, and you have to get more into the "why are psychos drawn to the police force".All five officers were black. I'm not picky.

If you're hankering for a racial component, ask yourself if this stop - carried out by Black officers - would've unfolded in anything like the same way if the suspect were not Black.

Maybe; maybe not. I've certainly seen plenty of video of white people getting their asses kicked by police.
Racism is certainly a problem for policing. It's not the only problem, or IMO even the biggest problem. IMO one of the biggest problems if not the biggest is that many police these days do not view themselves as integral parts of the communities they serve. They are more akin to solders patrolling hostile enemy territory with an active insurgency, and because anyone they meet could be an enemy combatant, everyone they encounter must be treated as an enemy combatant.

The DOJ announced sweeping fraud indictments against one of our primary competitors in the region last week. They, like us, are a Medicaid-driven group--the gubmint does not mess around with healthcare fraud, ESPECIALLY when it involves Medicaid.
Just insanely brazen. Nail them to the wall.

I took a Healthcare Compliance class in law school, focused mostly around the False Claims Act. *whistles*
I do not want any part of that, thanks.

Woof. That isn't even the more usual False Claims Act sort of Medicare-fraud case. That's a full RICO criminal conspiracy prosecution. "Nail to the wall" indeed. The DOJ announced sweeping fraud indictments against one of our primary competitors in the region last week. Yes, James Harrison is definitely the one guy I’d take a chance on pissing off.
