This is a pretty wild story. A woman in Iowa says her deceased father murdered between 50 and 70 people and forced her and her sister to help dispose of the bodies in a well on their farm property. The other sister says it's all a bunch of BS. I figured the sister who made the claims was probably mentally ill, but now it's come out that two of the man's wives committed suicide while married to him. One supposedly strangled herself with an electrical cord and another shot herself. Police are investigating now and say cadaver dogs have made hits on the property, but no bodies have been recovered yet, and no one knows where the claims are true.

This is a major argument for the sovcits, and of course they get it completely wrong. While a court certainly must have jurisdiction, and jurisdiction can be challenged at any time, the party challenging jurisdiction has the burden of demonstrating a lack of jurisdiction. It is not something that the plaintiff or prosecution must "prove" as part of their case. The sovcits think that saying "subject matter jurisdiction" is some sort of magic spell that means the case should be dismissed.
