BREAKING: Kaua‘i Police Arrest Lori Vallow Daybell on $5 Million Warrant from Idaho

The Kaua‘i Police Department arrested 47-year-old Lori Vallow (also known as Lori Daybell) of Idaho on Thursday in relation to an investigation being conducted by the Rexburg Police Department.

The case has sparked national media coverage amid the disappearance of her two children–17-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old Joshua “J.J.” Vallow who have been missing since September–and the recent deaths of her former spouse, her brother and her new husband’s former wife.

Vallow was arrested on a warrant issued by Madison County, Idaho and is currently being held at the KPD Cellblock in lieu of $5 million bail.

Vallow failed to comply with a court order to produce her children before authorities on Jan. 30 in Madison County.

The rate of COVID-19 infections in countries other than China continues to increase. Today, we have news that infections in South Korea have doubled. Many of them are related to a church in the southern city of Daegu. Apparently, a woman came back from Whuan in China and attended services at the Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Daegu, and the infection has started to spread from there. Iran has reported two deaths from COVID-19 and an unknown number of infections that were spread from those people in the city of Qom. At least three of the infected from Qom in Iran were on a flight on Thursday that flew from Qom in Iran to Beirut, Lebanon, and they were showing symptoms on the flight.

On a serious note, most Westerners would be utterly appalled at how Chinese peasants treat animals, not to mention the wide variety of animal parts they eat. The stuff they do to dogs over there is bad enough, but it's obviously not just limited to that. I'm honestly shocked it took this long for a pandemic to come out of China again.

Pretty sure this was the issue in the last Kauai helicopter crash, as well. And one of the reasons I'll never get on another one again.

It came out a couple days ago that the pilot had a previous FAA infraction for a similar weather-related flight rules violation. He was traversing the Class-B airspace around LAX near the Hawthorne airport, and was told to hold station and not cross the flight paths of incoming traffic due to IFR conditions at low altitude. He apparently said "eff it" and crossed the airspace anyway. Incoming traffic is below 1,000' AGL at this point and (obviously) descending, so wandering through that space is usually a no-go in the best of circumstances, and yet....

It's funny, because sometimes you'll have a police chase through the streets at the bottom of that airspace, and the suspect will know about the restrictions. So they'll just drive around and around knowing that police and news helos can't follow.

VFR into IMC is the leading cause of crashes for general aviation, and commercial aviation is certainly not immune. Experienced pilots can and do suffer from spatial disorientation, and that appears to be what happened here.

I'm not sure what the goal of the litigation is, though. I highly doubt that Kobe Bryant's widow needs the money.

Using the optics of a country where 90% of the population identify as atheists, JJ is pretty much the Czech "Tim Tebow" (in the sense that tabloids never found any evidence of him cheating while in any of his long-term relationships; and him behaving "white knight-y" when defending the honor of his most recent official GF - an ex-stripper 20+ years younger who eventually left JJ for a much younger actor/model(?) ).
