I’ve seen others do it and thought it might be fun to try so fire away. Yes, it is early - took the gf to the airport - so you early risers/workers can put some in the queue and I’ll get to them when I wake back up.

What's your handicap? And have you ever got to play (or have some Arnold Palmers in the clubhouse) with anyone cool?

I'll go with the easiest of questions instead: What is the best part of your job? What is the worst?
And I'm sure this was mentioned in the golf thread, but favorite course that you've played?

I started in sports TV at ESPN when I first got out of college. After 5 years, I grew tired of CT (which isn't difficult) and the lack of upward mobility so I followed a couple of friends to Florida and took a big step down as a producer at a cable access station before cashing in one of those friends being at GC to get me an interview there. Almost 15 years later and I'm still there. Easiest way to explain what I do is everything but be in front of the camera. At Bethpage last week (and all of the other events I cover), I'm with a camera and we'll go around shooting video, highlights on gamedays, interviews with players (either me or our reporter), and coordinating between what studio producers want for shows that day/night. It's rare for my voice to get on air but it has happened - like Sunday night when I'm told it got on during my interview with the low club professional. If I'm in the studio working, I'm cutting highlights or working graphics for whatever shows are going on (Golf Central). How did you get into the golf world, generally speaking, and specifically what you do in it?

Currently a 12 but had it as low as an 8 back in 2011 but then developed a swing flaw that morphed into a full-blown yip that took me off the golf course for the better part of a year. Now I just need to get out there a bit more often and I can have it down into single digits again. As for playing with anyone cool, I can't say that I have other than our reporters that you see on TV. I've only ever been in one pro-am and the pro was now-retired Champions Tour player Brad Bryant. PGA Tour player wise, I've done tequila shots with Gary Woodland following a Kansas basketball game and I was there for the filming of the first Golf Boys music video (Bubba, Fowler, Crane, Mahan) in 2012.What's your handicap? And have you ever got to play (or have some Arnold Palmers in the clubhouse) with anyone cool?
I'm a righty and I had a wicked banana off the tee for the longest time because I played baseball and I've always used a baseball-type grip. The way I corrected it was taking my top hand and rotating the top of it toward the target at address. I found that when I swung, my top hand would rotate away from the target at impact, thus opening up the face. The other thing to remember is to rotate yourself through the ball on the swing. If you're late with your body, you're going to push it out to the right. Try the different grip stuff on the range and see how it works before taking it to the course. How can I fix my slice off the tee?

2005 Players -- rain all week, Tour had to cancel the 2nd round and start it over on Saturday, we had a Monday finish in 30mph winds that Fred Funk won. Due to budgetary reasons at the time, all of our crew that had been on site went back to Orlando except me, 2 reporters, and an editor. I had to take the tape with the winning interview on it and roll it from a machine on site while being on the phone with the control room and them telling me when to hit play. Real MacGyver operation back then. What was the first tournament you worked?
No and I've actually never seen Blair O'Neal up close because the instructional shows always tape on my days off.Did you have to change your underwear the first time you got on Augusta? Or when you saw Blair O'Neal?
Never been much of a gamer but I'll play Golden Tee once in a while when at the local watering hole with co-workers.What’s your favorite golf video game?

Ooooooh, loaded question time. I truly think he only knew whatever McQueary told him. It was known that he and Sandusky weren't on the best of terms near the end of Jerry's tenure but being the close-knit community that SC was in the 70's/early 80's, if he knew something was going on, he'd have never been supportive of The Second Mile and he'd have blown the whistle on Jerry. I feel like the caricature of him being a feeble old man who only paid attention to football was an accurate portrayal and the idea of a man with boys was foreign to him, which seems pretty out of line for someone who would quote the Aeneid. I've always thought that if the truth came out and he was covering something up or knew and didn't say anything, that I'd have a vastly different way of thinking of him. But given all the philanthropy that he and his wife were a part of over the years, I can't imagine he'd have that dark side where he'd cover up something like that.Did Joe know?
