:slug:
Did read it after I got out.
Still feels weird. I had a portion of that typed out saying I understood the why, but when I went to condense I must've deleted it. I think part of it goes back to having the ghost of Han coming back to tell him to do the right thing. I didn't think Han was force-sensitive, but maybe his ghost was some representation of the light side of the force coming to Ben after Leia died. It seemed like the turnaround happened fairly quick, but will acknowledge it's been a while since I watched Ep VII and VIII so I may be overlooking some other little hints at him still having guilt or whatever amounts to that for turning to the dark side.

100% that was supposed to be
Carrie Fisher. Her death had a huge effect on ROS. The filmmakers did what they could to salvage the story, but they definitely had a difficult task.

Final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins February 21st. I'm assuming these won't be dropped all at once.

started last night. I look forward to the story arc episodes, filler episodes not so much. I have a feeling there may be a lot of filler episodes. I hate how dumb the roger roger droids are

what the hell? are you really not supposed to watch the episodes in season order? last thing I want to do is go and pick and choose episode order.

Chronological rewatch update:

I only saw Solo once in the theater so I was excited to watch it again. I had the same response the second time around. It's a fun movie that I wish wasn't about Han Solo. It's also forgettable. It was like watching it for the first time. My guess is if I wait another year or so before watching it again, I will have the same experience. I'm assuming we'll never get a sequel even though this was clearly attempting to set one up.

Rogue One is so good. There are only two moments that annoy me: running into Evazan and Baba on Jedha and shoehorning in R2 & 3P0.

Finally getting to the OT today and it'll be my first time ever watching the blu-ray/digital versions and first time with any special editions since the limited edition DVDs were released in 2006 or so.

Completely agree on Solo. Fun movie. If I never see it again I won't care.

I would watch a movie or TV show about whatever Emilia Clarke's character has gotten herself into.

Yup. I was hoping the Obi-Wan series would have something to do with Emilia Clarke & Maul.

Imagine if Episode II is about Obi-Wan and Anakin chasing Maul around the Galaxy while the Clone Wars rage around them.

The Cinefex issue for Mando is going to be must-read imo. That 'Stagecraft' 360 background plate is a digital projection that actually has a real-time parallax effect, meaning it's basically 3D; when the actors (and camera) move about on the stage, the perspective on projected objects shifts depending on their relative 'depth' in the field of view, as if it were real. I've heard a few of the actors talk about it, and they say the effect is a little unnerving at first, because it's so immersive and effective. And a lot of what they shoot on set has actually ended up in final shots, which means they need photo-real VFX plates during production.

It is as big a deal, if not bigger, than green screen. And it is why ILM remains the Big Bad of the VFX industry.

That was great.

How do people even do this with 11 films worth of dialogue?
