Astounding!

I'm gonna work off of this video from now on. I've been using a piano transcription of that piece, because none of the guitar arrangements I've seen were really any good. When in doubt, change the tuning!
Edit: Dude, that guy has a companion video with his tab/transcription. To the Woodshed!

My kids are watching Attack of the Clones tonight and I just realized Rogue One just ignores George Lucas on the origin of the Death Star.

Can you blame it?My kids are watching Attack of the Clones tonight and I just realized Rogue One just ignores George Lucas on the origin of the Death Star.

It doesn't really retcon the origin of the Death Star. Galen Erso was really only involved with the design and development of The Weapon, not the station itself.
Also, there is apparently no art book/making of thing for Mando, and that needs to be fixed toot suite.

Don't hold your breath. That flourishy harp/tappy thing in the middle overture bit is beyond my skill and requires Elvish medicine.

But Krennic was, and it is mentioned that it was being built in a place that was not Geonosis. It doesn't really retcon the origin of the Death Star. Galen Erso was really only involved with the design and development of The Weapon, not the station itself.

I mean, there's a twenty-year gap in the timeline between the events of the two movies, and like a 10-12 year gap between AOTC and the prologue of RO when Jyn is a girl. I don't think it's disruptive to canon that perhaps more than one or two people built the Death Star(s). lol

Just let me pretend like the Death Star wasn't built by giant bugs, please.

Watched A New Hope last night. First time seeing the special editions in over a decade. I forgot some of the changes and got offended by them all over again.
Han shooting first is much better than it was in the 97 editions, but still completely stupid. Same with the Jabba scene. Not only does it look bad, but it's also totally redundant. Regardless of what Lucas says, they cut that because it was an unnecessary scene. Not because he wanted to do a stop motion Jabba but technology restrictions made that impossible. P.S. if the plan was always to use a stop motion Jabba, why cast Jabba as a fat white dude, put him in full costume, and have him in the shot?
The scene with Biggs and Luke is also totally pointless and kills the pace. I didn't mind some of the updated effects. I actually like adding spaceships landing and expanding Mos Eisley. That makes sense. But he can't stop there. He HAS to add a slapstick moment.
Overall, the SE moments took me out of the film and caused me to be more critical of it than I would be watching the original cut. I'm looking forward to Empire. If I remember correctly, there are far less changes. God help me when I get to Jedi.

The costume he wore resembled what Jabba's character design was circa 1976.

I’m sure his plan was to just have Jabba be a human due to technical limitations, but to rewrite history and say the plan was always to replace the actor is just more Lucas bullshit. The costume he wore resembled what Jabba's character design was circa 1976.

I read they are coming down pretty hard on etsy stores and other makers who are doing bootleg Baby Yoda stuff. Unintended (but expected) side effect of delaying the merch push to preserve the secret

Just started Empire. Why did they change Luke's line from "You're lucky you don't taste very good" to "You're lucky you got out of there?" Seems such an odd thing to tinker with.
Side note: I actually liked the additional Wampa shots. It added to the scene and upped the tension. Empire is so good.

Wait wat? That's a line from Dagobah, right? Why in the world would you change that.
