Honestly, I love musical breakdowns like that. Thank you for sharing.

Also, I've read through a few more reviews of TLJ, and the associated social media comments. I really am at quite a loss figuring out why anyone disliked the movie, let alone outright hated it. It had one scene that I thought was stupid, but otherwise it was a spectacular film.

Rogue One

Episode V

Episode VIII/Episode VII/Episode IV

(The best of Rebels is somewhere in this area)

Episode VI

Episode III

(The worst of Rebels - lightspeed space whales - is in this general area)

Episode II

Episode I

My list tends to change all the time but right now I'm at:
Empire
New Hope
Rogue One
Force Awakens
Last Jedi
Return of the Jedi
Sith
Menace
Clones

Clones is really really bad.

John Williams is conducting/composing the opening theme to the Han Solo solo film, but John Powell is composing the rest of the score for the film.

This is good news.

Just looking at the bits between "A long time ago" and the end credits, Ep II is an objectively worse film than Ep I. But Ep I represented 15 years of preparation for a new Star Wars movie, and they came up with midi-chlorians and Darth Vader as a 3rd grader. Also, the making-of treats us to Lucas uttering the words "Jar Jar is the key to all of this" unironically. So it will always win the booby prize.

And I did not rank Clone Wars because, and I still can't believe this is a thing, I have never watched a single episode. I was planning on doing starting it up when we moved, but I got sidetracked to the Flavortown chapeau diner.

Darth Maul is more than enough reason to get through Menace. AoTC is just a really hard movie to sit through. It actually gets worse every time I go through and rewatch these things.

Watchability-wise, Ep 1 wins every time. I can actually make it through that movie and while it represents crushing disappointment after a 15 year wait, it's also not boring. Ep 2 is **** boring. And long. Oh my God it's so long.

The animated Boba Fett is not a good justification for sitting through the SW Holiday Special. So I cannot watch how horribly Maul is paid off in Ep I and think the preceding two hours were otherwise totally worth it. Heck, he was so badly dealt with they literally brought the character back from the grave to be dispatched by Obi-Wan again.

Further, I may be alone in liking the Yoda fight scene in Ep II.

The Yoda fight was cool, but I think he should have wiped the floor with Dooku.

I really don't like Ep 2. It's just a waste of time. Ignoring the context of Ep 1 with the massive hype and then disappointment, there are still some really good moments in it. Duel of Fates is one of the best saber fights in Star Wars. The podrace itself is actually a really good race. It drags the movie to a standstill, but it's well orchestrated.

The first season of Clone Wars is not good, but it gets insanely good towards the end. I would skip season 1 upon any further viewings.

Yeah, he was one of the few bright spots of Episode 1. Even just the first time you see the double-sided saber in the trailer was more awesome than anything any villain did in Ep 2 or 3.

Dude, he's probably the most popular Sith character behind Darth Vader, and easily in the top 3 most popular villains in Star Wars.

once the last jedi hype dies down for me, I'll probably settle with

Empire
ANH
Return
last jedi
Rogue one
Force Awakens
Sith
Menace
AoTC

Return always gets up there because of nostalgia for me, but I could just as easily put that with Rogue One and Force Awakens.

Maul in Rebels was exceptional. The only more compelling character in that series, imo, is Thrawn, and that's owing in no small part to his prior set up in the Zahn books.
