Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

Postby tifosi77 » Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:45 pm

I'm a little over those constant battles with oversized local fauna. Is Bo-Katan now a Mother of Dragons?
Taming beasts is central to the core of Mandalorian culture, which is why the rest of the Covert didn't immediately hit her with a barrage of WTFs. The Raptor chicks were welcomed with open arms as 'foundlings', same as Grogu, same as Din Djarin himself (and I believe same as Ragnar, which underscores how significant it was that Paz Vizsla identified him as his son; Foundling-Ward is a sacred bond in Mando culture).
But specifically taming beasts is important in identifying those fit to unify and lead the clans of the Tribe. It predates such claims related to the Darksaber of Tarre Vizsla by a very long time (going back to the first Mandalorian Taungs who tamed mythosaurs). So........ yes, Mother of Dragons. It is for this reason it is significant that she chose to reveal to The Armorer her mythosaur sighting, as The Armorer is the leader of that particular covert.

It is really interesting to me seeing the dynamic shape up between Bo-Katan and this particular group of Mandos. Without getting into a bogged down thing, this Covert appears to be Death Watch remnants and has among their numbers at least one Shadow Collective adherent (The Armorer) and a Vizsla, and now the last survivor of House Kryze (leader of the Nite Owls) has shown up and is asserting leadership over the lot.

Culture wars!
But yes, all that said the "crikey, she's a beaut!" stuff is getting a little played out. I said to Mrs Tif when the Raptor showed up, "Are all the good planets taken?"

On the one hand, this means Rogue One and The Last Jedi remain the only SW theatrical efforts mounted by Lucasfilm in the Disney/KK era to not go through development upheaval resulting in the initial director(s) and/or writers getting s**tcanned, and/or the project's plug getting pulled prematurely. (RO and TLJ are by far not just my favorite Disney/KK era theatrical projects, they are my favorite SW movies, period, so take that fwiw... which is nothing.) So that's a pretty bad look, however you slice it.

But on the other hand, as I commented on a YT video this AM, getting rid of Damon Lindelof from your movie is bad in the same way as it is bad for a ninja to set off on a mission without their drum kit. Long run, you're probably better off for it.

The Disney Star Wars era has been disappointing to say the least. It started off strong with Force Awakens and Rogue One (which is easily the best Star Wars movie since the OT), but man it went downhill fast. We got a sequel trilogy with no clear direction or identity, the adventures of young Han Solo that nobody asked for, countless announced productions that either started and stopped or never got off the ground at all, and a very mixed bag of straight to D+ shows. And we still don't have an actual release of the theatrical OT.

At least the cartoons have been well received.

As soon as I hit 'post' I thought "maybe I should change that to 'so you've heard'," but figured the first draft sufficiently captured the spirit of the thing.

You should see the planet the Bad Batch ended up on a couple of episodes ago. Looks just like Portofino/Croatia, but subtropical.

So the Internet consensus seems to be
that the chrome yacht that spirited Master Beq and Grogu away from Coruscant was sent to their aid by Jar-Jar Binks.
What day you all to that?

The internet drew a connection between grogu’s taste for eating frogs and eggs to him being raised in the gungan under water city and I want to puke because it actually makes good sense.

Misty Rosas is known to be back for Se3. She's played two characters so far, one of which died. So she's either coming back as a new character or reprising the other role.........
....... which was Frog Lady.
8-)

You know it's from Naboo. When the crew got off they asked where were the others, so they were expecting to get multiple Jedi off to safety. He would want to help. I'm convinced. I'm also on board with what Meow was saying.

From my recollection, "ignore the bad parts" leaves you with one scene near the end of the season. ("I'm sorry, Anakin..... for all of it" legit choked me up.)

Re Kelleran -- If the assist came from that character for that reason, oh how I will laaaaaaaaaugh.....

Wasn't sure it was him or just the same species, but it was definitely him. Very cool!

It was even the actor that voiced him so it was a dead giveaway soon as he spoke.

My kids recognized it, but I wasn't sure. I knew it was the same species, but IMdB confirmed it was Steve Blum. Very cool.

I haven't started the Mandeliorian yet, but have been catching up on The Bad Batch. Been a pretty good season so far IMO. I'm on episode 10, but only got like 2 minutes into it before I fell asleep last night.

2 episode season finale of Bad Batch was out yesterday. The season has been good so far, like 3 plot moving eps and 1-2 fluff/throwaway episodes, then 3 plot moving episodes etc. But overall it's been good.
