I have a buddy that got to go to a preview of Galaxy's Edge on Saturday, and he (not a huge SW fan) said it was bonkers good.

On mobile so I have no idea how to embed, but here’s a walking tour of Galaxy’s Edge at DL. Unreal.

I was hesitant to start watching this because I really want to go into this without any real idea of what to expect, but as I'm also resigned to the fact that I likely won't get there until at least 2020, so here we go.

Also for whatever it's worth, I saw some other media/SW fans that got advanced tours and I think Amy Ratcliffe (@amy_geek) may have put it best...
You can read a ton about it and watch videos, but nothing prepares you for or takes away from the experience of being there and feeling the scope.

Full queue and limited POV (some spoilers for the ride)

That animatronic transport guide is incredible. Turning the corning and suddenly boarding the Falcon is so **** cool.So there are gunners, engineers, and pilots. Which means in order to get the full experience, you're going to need to ride it three times. I'm also very pleased that it's not 3D.

So I'm about six minutes into this video and my biggest takeaway is that I'll be spending about $200 on plushy toys when I go.

I totally dig that the primary language on the signage is Aurabesh.

I think I have 3 dragon puppets that sit on your shoulder from renaissance festivals and now I see they are selling the same things but in salacious crumb form and this is going to be awesome.

Also TIL Galaxy's Edge is a whole new Land in the park. All this time I thought they were just reskinning and expanding Tomorrowland.

I'll be directly across the street in October for a trade show...maybe I'll scale the fence and sneak in.

$200 for a custom lightsaber
$100 for a custom astromech/BB droid.

Whenever my wife and I finally get there, I will never be so happy to fork over $600 in my entire life.

$200 for a custom lightsaber
The licensed prop replicas are more than 3x that. Having a bespoke one at that price almost seems cute.

My kids built lightsabers outside of Star Tours a couple of years ago. I think it was $30-40 a pop.

Hell, they spent $50 (of their own money) on magic wands from Ollivander's Wand Shop at Universal.

We're going to have to take out a second mortgage at Galaxy's Edge.

They should totally suspend the exit signage laws at Disney  It's literally the only thing that detracts from the authenticity.

Evidently, some enterprising guests tried to order takeout food from a Galaxy's Edge restaurant...from outside that part of the park. No, ordering food will not give you access to Galaxy's Edge. The app blocked them from ordering it. Such technology.

A group of my friends - some of the dearest people to me, who I missed so much after we moved - went to Galaxy's Edge on Monday and did not invite me. I'm proper pissed off.

Pablo Hidalgo: "'New York' is visible on the bottom of Luke's lightsaber in EMPIRE"

(Hard to notice, but it's at 12-11 o'clock, next to the D-ring. Can't unsee it.)
