Awesome. I wonder where this will fit. Is it the next step after 9? Does this idea replace the Anthology idea which has no current plans beyond Solo? A trilogy without the Skywalker focus makes me think that another plan must be in place or thought about to consider the stories of Rey, Finn, Poe, etc.

Pretty excited about this.

Johnson will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored.

That does literally nothing to answer the questions I posed about release timing, the future of the Anthology series, and the future of the new characters from the Skywalker story.

Sorry, I misread your post. Maybe they'll wrap up the new crew by the end of nine.

This raises my hopes for The Last Jedi to obscene levels. It must be great for Lucasfilm to basically make Johnson the new Lucas, right?

Yeah, you don't hand over the keys to a multi-billion dollar franchise for the next ten years to a schmoe who delivered crap.

My thoughts as well. This is a huge creative commitment.

Not sure if this is still being hotly debated, but the German title of Episode VIII is "Die letzten Jedi" = plural.

So dexter jettster is really a jedi and he's been undercover hiding in that diner the whole time! This is going to be amazing!

Hmm. I thought Rian Johnson had already said it was just Luke? Maybe I'm imagining that.

Star wars is American. Nobody cares what it says in second rate languages.

The elf on the shelf usually shows up at our house the morning we all goto the new star wars movie and he usually brings new star wars shirts for the kids to wear. He showed up early today and got me a shirt for the premiere.

It's beautiful.

How about was ET a Jedi Padawan? ET could make stuff fly, heal, mind control. I would not go full out Jedi as ET was not real good at all of those things, and seemed a bit... childish at times, but potentially a youngling type.

I dunno if Earth exists in the Star Wars universe, but ET's race sure does. They're members of the Galactic Senate
