It was enjoyable but like I said I still don’t understand why I should care about it. Star Wars feels aimless at the moment.

Caring about Boba Fett has always been my issue with the character.

I will continue watching because Ming-Na Wen is a boss. And I'm also curious who 'the Mayor' is...... I've read some speculation as to who it might be, and if true that would be kinda cool, if execution-dependent.

Don’t mention smoking hot women. It’s weird.

Also, it should always be noted that Ming-Na is yinzer-adjacent.

Wait a second

That shield fight was laughably bad. I still enjoyed the episode and will continue watching, but it felt off compared to what else they have been putting out.

One thing I did like was the reference to Boba as a 'daimyo'. Like they're leaning in on the Japanese/Kurosawa influence.
However....... daimyo had bosses themselves. So who's the 'shogun' here?

BoB episode 2. Wow, what lore and world building. What fleshing out of those previously treated as mostly savages. I thought Mando did a good job showing more but this was fantastic and well paced all around IMO.

So anything set in Tatooine will be a Western. That's fine. Ep 2 was much better.
Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)
Episode 2 was definitely better but I still have the same problem. Why should I care? Tonally, this and Mandalorian are nearly identical. Even structurally they are nearly identical. Why isn't this Mandalorian season 3? I don't understand why you produce two live action Star Wars series and make them so similar. Star Wars is a huge universe (or at least should be) and they give us two western serials that both star a character in the same armor? Come on.

I agree. I think it's a crass move to keep eyeballs (and subs to) on Disney+. At several points, the score even sounded like the Mandolorian score...like my son thought it was a cue that Grogu or Djinn was going to make an appearance. In some of the MCU movies, you hear the Black Panther score a bit before T'Challa comes on screen (other Star Wars films do this too).

Just think of it as bonus material.

I'll cut Disney a bit of a break here because BoBF is just their second live-action TV series, and it was completely unannounced until the end of Mandolorian Season Two. I'd love to know how long BoBF has actually been planned.Episode 2 was definitely better but I still have the same problem. Why should I care? Tonally, this and Mandalorian are nearly identical. Even structurally they are nearly identical. Why isn't this Mandalorian season 3? I don't understand why you produce two live action Star Wars series and make them so similar. While I'm really enjoying The Mandolorian and BoBF (episode 2 was terrific) so far, I do think they need to start to move away from the legacy characters and storylines. The problem is that we probably won't really get there until The Acolyte, as that's supposed to take place in the High Republic era. In between then and now, we're almost certainly going to get the Andor and Kenobi series, and possibly the Ahsoka series AND another Bad Batch series.
This is one the reasons I was (am?) so excited for the Rogue Squadron film and that Rangers of the New Republic series...those are both opportunities to move completely toward something new.

I just learned Sam Witwer has a V/O role in BOBF, and I am happy.

Witwer is awesome. Although I still have to watch the series, the scream from Rebels is absolutely legendary:I just learned Sam Witwer has a V/O role in BOBF, and I am happy.

The duel between Maul and Kenobi from Rebels is peak SW imo. Up there with Rogue One Vader.
In Portuguese there is a term called 'saudade', which basically means 'longing' or 'pining' for something; it's like a happy sadness. The saudade in Maul's voice when he asks "Is he..... the Chosen One?" is *chefs kiss*

Fett ep 2 was great. I was a little worried after the first episode, but I'm good now. This was a pretty hardcore nerdy star wars world episode, I'm all for more like this. The sand people story is terrific

Fett Se 1 Ep2 was better then Ep1 but still super meh imo. We have not yet been given the slightest inkling as to why this show exists, and we are already 1/3 of the way through. It's thoroughly not engaging.
Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)
Pretty sure it exists because there was a movie that got scrapped, right? After the last episode, I'm actually pretty happy. It's a star wars story that absolutely feels like we are in that universe and it's telling a new different story. I'm good with that.
Star Wars discussion (SPOILERS INCLUDED)
You think it's telling a new different story? As I said above, this is Mando 2.0 so far. There are so many stories to tell and they instead are giving us two incredibly similar shows.
