Had the great opportunity to go to a couple bowl games with my dad while growing up. We were at that 2006 Orange Bowl. What a game.

Huge day for Ethan Kilmer, who is frankly a player I barely remember.

Steve Smith, who was a fullback on the 1986 National Championship team, is another one who has been dealing with ALS for a long time now. Just so sad to see guys like him, Shaw, Steve Gleason, and others who were at such a peak fitness level get smacked down by that disease.

That 2006 Orange Bowl was bizarre. I was in Hawaii that night and had to pick up a friend at the airport as the game was going on so I heard the Kilmer TD on the radio. And then it was the overtimes that wouldn't end. So while everyone was probably saying 'end this so we can go to bed', I was saying 'end this so I can go get dinner'. Michael Robinson and Austin Scott were beasts that night too.

I was looking back at the Wiki from that game. Did not realize this about Kevin Kelly:
and is the all-time leading scorer in Big Ten football history.[
