Keep the game within 14 of Ohio State, win the Rose Bowl and go 11-1. Good season.
12-1, but no doubt. Man, I wish that game was at home.

That said, I realllllly hope they don't look past Minny next weekend. I know Minny is undefeated but that is the very definition of a trap game.

Both teams have a bye this week, which I think benefits Penn State way more than Minny. Our D looks a bit worn down, and maybe they can teach Clifford second reads and check downs...work on some plays to get others involved.

Having said that, this is the Gopher's superb owl...at home...and they always seem to play us tough. This will be a hornet's nest.

Rutgers doesn't even count as a game so I stand by my 11-1. :slug:

Idaho - W
Buffalo - W (but closer than it should be)
Pitt - Obvious W
@Maryland - W
Purdue - W
@Iowa - W
Michigan - W
@Michigan State - W
@Minnesota - W
Indiana - W
@OSU - L
Rutgers - lololol W

I'm thinking best case scenario: 11-1
Worst case scenario: They also lose to Michigan and either Iowa or MSU and finish 9-3
I'm looking good so far... I think the best thing this team has going for itself is that they don't play Wisconsin this year. 9-3 is still very possible as Minnesota and Indiana aren't looking to be the easy outs they probably were at the beginning of the year.

I had them 8-4 so that would be embarrassing at this point.

I want to be confident about this Minnesota game because they haven’t really played anyone but after a slow start including Fresno State taking them to OT and Beating Georgia State by 3, they’ve killed the last 4 B1G opponents they’ve played. Admittedly they weren’t world beaters.

Will be interesting. They are lobbying for Gameday to make its first ever visit to the U but there’s the little matter of Alabama/LSU.....

Georgia Southern...but roughly, the same caliber.

Despite the fact that Minnesota has played the bottom of the Big Ten (both divisions), the fact that they have thoroughly plastered all of them tells me that they're being pretty efficient on both sides of the ball and that the hiccups they had in the first 3 games have been generally smoothed out. That certainly can be concerning. However, they're stepping up big time in class and they haven't seen the caliber of athletes and weapons that Penn State will throw at them on both sides of the ball.

As for Gameday, no chance. However, there was a time in 1997 when 8-0 Florida State played 8-0 North Carolina that they sent Gameday to Chapel Hill but also had a second set at State College for 8-0 Michigan vs. 7-0 Penn State. That one didn't end very well for our Lions.

Clifford just needs to stop throwing the deep ball. He doesn't have it

They are a good team, if they beat us fine but we are not prepared at all after a bye week, they are.

The spike screwed them. You have a timeout. Use them.

2 turnovers resulting in 14 points. That’s the story so far. Fix that and you win. Play your game.

Even before it was no good, why go for 2 there? I understand getting within 3, but you have a whole quarter left. Get your points and move on.

Yep, my thoughts too. Not a fan of chasing points any other time than back side of the fourth quarter

We got out coached badly. PJ Fleck came with a plan to attack this defense. Franklin looks helpless

The offense has largely looked inept this whole season. They don't have an identity. They're not a run team, they're not a pass team, they're not an RPO team. No clue what this offense is.

On the defensive side today, it's been all about the deep ball. They've essentially let one dude beat them.

Dumb call on going for 2. FG does nothing here
