Did you guys know that you need 100% irrefutable video evidence to overturn a call?

Nice win. Overall it was a pretty good year considering we had an inexperienced QB and RB group.

Agreed. Once again the future is bright with this team, especially with Freiermuth coming back.

Gotta get over the hump next year and win the Big Ten and get into the playoff. All the pieces are coming back (hopefully Hamler too) and there will be a lot of chips on shoulders. Come up short and I'm afraid Franklin is gonna be labeled as just an adequate coach.

Should be noted the first two years were still under sanction.

There's no denying he's a good coach and a great recruiter. He just needs to not lose the big game.. Or win the big game and lose a cupcake (MSU).

They’ll miss his speed, especially on special teams and plays where they get him the ball in space, not necessarily his WR skills.

Penn State football coach James Franklin retaliated against former player Isaiah Humphries after he reported violent hazing by other members of the team, Humphries contends in federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Humphries, who was recruited to the Nittany Lions, but later left the program, is suing Franklin and ex-teammate Damion Barber of Harrisburg in U.S. Middle District Court.

Humphries also names three other players, Micah Parsons, Yetur Gross-Matos and Jesse Luketa, as participants in the alleged hazing. He claims that, among other things, the hazers invoked the name of disgraced former coach Jerry Sandusky, who is in prison for molesting young boys.

TMZ had some details about what the hazing entailed... not a good look.

https://www.tmz.com/2020/01/14/penn-sta ... -franklin/
The allegations get much worse from here. Here's a list from the lawsuit ...

Upperclassmen wrestle lower classmen to the ground and "place [his] genitals on the face of the lower classmen."

An upperclassman would hold down a lower classman and "present his penis close to the face of the lower classman and stroke his genitalia simulating the action of ejaculation."

Humphries claims an upperclassman would put his penis on the buttocks of the lower classmen and stroke and again simulate masturbation ... sometimes while the victim was naked in the locker room shower.

Upperclassmen would grab lower classmen by the genitals

Humphries claims he and his father reported the hazing to members of the Penn State coaching staff -- including head coach James Franklin -- but nothing was done by the team specifically.

If these allegations are true, it's a bad look and Franklin should be relieved of his duties.

Cleaning the basement, found a bunch of old sports game DVD's. Among them was the 2006 Orange Bowl vs FSU. Thought I recalled that Tim Shaw, who was a starting LB in that game, was not well. He is continuing to cope with ALS. This Players Tribune piece from last year really hits you.

https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us ... unger-self

He also did a TED Talk in 2018

He's also working with Google on a project to help enhance voice recognition for those with the disease. This is one of the projects that's used money from the Ice Bucket challenge.

Some of the things they are doing are pretty incredible.
