The slight increase in mass from the electric bike means it has slightly higher momentum and thus won't fly quite as far when you and the bike get hit by a Chevy Tahoe whose driver is texting and not paying attention.

Anyone have any experience with electric bikes?

I have a sub 5 mile commute to work. Lots of hills though... like pretty steep ones. I'm starting to think about getting an e-bike for nice weather commutes. Looking for pros, cons, etc. I could get my bike tuned up and actually ride, but I'd rather not show up to work covered in sweat.
From the clip: "Just a few years ago, clectric bikes used to be considered something for senior citizen..." :D

(And the clip features a guy who could qualify for AARP)
