Walking out of the stadium, I thought they played poorly. I was shocked to find out that apparently on TV (and even according to most sports media, including on the Fan) their performance was viewed positively.

I thought he O-line couldn't do much of anything. Pickett plays QB the way 13-year olds play QB. The defense was fine but still no splash plays. Returns botched, absolutely inexplicable penalty decision by staff.

One thing is for certain -- people are open. They were open against UVA and they were open against Ohio.

Is AJ Davis good?

Damar Hamlin is a senior. He has made maybe 3-5 critical plays in his career.

Did Ford come off on 3rd down again?

I think I can add ford to the "something to look forward to" category bc he does play with aggression

Randy Johnson's daughter plays for Oregon and looks just like him. Also just crushing serves with her left hand

Did I just see Thiel featured in a Coke commercial that is, I presume, a national commercial?

Yes that is theil

Also, the super panther volleyball team is a welcome change of pace from the usual pitt sports we see given that the VB team goes to recruiting hotbeds and recruits talented players (how pitt convinced Pasadena native Kayla Lund to come to pitt is beyond me), plays fun games and physically dominates other teams, and has a coach that is actually engaging and seemingly enjoyable to be around. Plus they actually take care of business. Plus Layne van bus Kirk is a dreamboat

That was a lot of fun to watch last night. I took my kids to a few matches last year. We are going to a few this year too. It's a ton of fun. And the team signs autographs and engages with the kids after each match. I really enjoy going to the Olympic sports.

We are going to the Pitt soccer game tomorrow night against #1 WF.

Discovered a pretty cool family/friend connection to Pitt women's volleyball last night that also made me feel really old.

I was glancing at the roster and saw that Maddie Soboleski hails from NW PA. I recognized the last name and found out that her dad Mark was one of my cousin Kevin's closest friends from high school. They were teammates on Erie McDowell's football team back in the mid-late 1980s. Mark was also McDowell's head football coach when James Conner played there.

Will there be a game thread for tomorrow?

Blackledge is calling the game so that will be fun and unbiased. Hopefully better than Brian Griese though. He tweeted he wants the game to continue, so maybe UPS fans will hate him by 3pm

Gonna need to win this game ugly. Can't keep up with PSU scoring. Anything is possible. My heart says H2P.. my head says Pitt gets beat by at least two touchdowns.

Yes and no. This isn't McSorley and Barkley/Sanders's offense. If Pitt can find a way to put up 20+ points they'll be in this. Pitt's D can keep them in the game if they aren't on the field the whole game. My main worry is UPS front 7 forcing 3 and out after 3 and out. Their defense is very good.

The offensive line and Pickett are going to have to have the game of their lives. 3 and out's aren't an option. In general the offense has to not suck ass and like you said not have the defense be on the field the entire game.

Yup if we had a Cuse or UPS schedule last year we go 9-3 and are top 15 at year end. No need to make it any harder than it already is

It doesn’t matter what he says. Whether he admitted he was wrong or spun some BS like this, there’s no excuse, no explanation, nothing that can ever excuse doing that, let alone in a game against ups.

Can’t wait for him to kick a FG in Morgantown down 4 with 4 minutes left from the 2 yard line and take another year off my life.

Because you need two scores to win the football game.
