If he knows anything it’s how to underachieve and disappoint while also making stupid coaching decisions.
don't forget the part about offering bold, unneeded statements (for example, the statement that damar Hamlin is the best DB he has coached)

This should all be taken with a grain of salt because it really means little until these kids get into the program, but here's some 'crootin news with early signing day less than two weeks away:

GOOD - DE Dayon Hayes and RB Henry Parrish were both bumped from 3-star to 4-star recruits by Rivals. Rivals uses a numeric rating to help "quantify" their star ratings. 5.7 is considered a high 3-star. Hayes and Parrish were bumped to 5.8, which gets them into the 4-star range. That gives them three four-star commits in this current class, with Hayes & Parrish joining S Jahvante Royal. Unfortunately, former 4-star WR Ayden Henningham got bumped down from a 4-star to a high 3-star.

EVEN BETTER - Parrish had a monster senior season and ended up also getting moved up to the 155th spot on Rivals's overall national recruit rankings. It's always difficult to project how these kids are going to do at this level - especially as true freshmen - but this kid's tape makes him look like someone who will legitimately step in and contribute next season, and that's not just because none of the other current roster RBs asserted themselves this year.

BUT BECAUSE THIS IS PITT: For those who haven't followed it as much, Parrish committed in June during one of the recruiting bonanza weekends and by the 4th of July, there was already talk that he'd be the toughest commit for these coaches to keep. He started pulling in other offers almost immediately, including Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, Tennessee, and most recently Florida.

He said he's not signing until February and he's reportedly settled on three schools - Pitt, South Carolina, and Florida. Most Pitt fans are thinking his eventual de-commit is inevitable but Partridge is handling his recruitment so we'll see.

If Parrish came here he would (should, Narduzzi is a dumbass so who knows for sure) start immediately and be in the NFL after three seasons, which should 100% be Partridge's pitch to him. However, there's a 150% chance he decommits and ends up at an SEC school so he can play closer to home and in warmer weather year round. I've been on UF's campus during rush week and there's no greater recruiting tool in this world than the enduring memory of what my eyes witnessed. Everyone needs to buckle up and get ready for Round 2 of SATFOP Davis.

It is always a good day at work when, for whatever reason, one of the gr8est moments of super panther football history is a topic of conversation:

10/5/1996 Pitt 53 Temple 52

According to noted trustworthy source Wikipedia, there was 30,054 people at this game, but lets face it, that probably means there were 15,000 max. The marsupial was among those lucky enough to be there.

For those of you who do not remember (or are too young to remember), this game sucked so bad that Temple Owl head coach Ron Dickerson quit after the game:

Of course, the best part about the game is that Dickerson decided to unquit a few days later:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-x ... story.html

Sadly I can't find a boxscore for this game, but Billy West (underrated imo) was the team's leading rusher in 1996. Somehow that team had 2 NFL quarterbacks on the roster (Pistol Pete, Matt Lytle) plus DJ Dinkins (NFL TE) also took a few snaps at QB. He was a city league QB and eventually moved to safety at pitt and played a long time at tight end in the NFL.

Harkening back to an era where Pitt used to have TEs, JP Holtz! is leading the Bears in receiving at halftime.

Great piece of trivia. The last stop in Ron Dickerson's very (not) illustrious coaching career was a one year stint at Lambuth University, a school I have never heard of. He replaced Hugh Freeze there in 2010.

Edit: Ah, as of 2011, Lambuth doesn't exist anymore. That explains it.

He served as the head football coach at the Temple University from 1993 until 1997, at Alabama State University from 1998 through 1999, and at Lambuth University in 2010, compiling a career college football coaching record of 19–68.
He's also from Coraopolis according to Wikipedia

I was happy with pitt played and there were signs of progress

Does this team stink at shooting? Why yes. But they rebounded admirably, played tough on defense and hung in there. Those refs sucks

Murphy got a little exposed last night. Not sure he can flourish every game in the ACC.

But overall there were a lot more positives than negatives coming out of that game.

Still sticking with my prediction of 18 wins.

Murphy isn’t good enough to be the *only* shooter on the team (let alone the floor) at all times. If there was another guy that was a reasonable threat to make a 3, it would help him a lot. Hopefully that changes next year. But in the meantime, pitt has enough talent and enough toughness to win some games. But there are going to be a lot of ugly losses this year too.

Women’s vb team loses in the round of 32 as the 6th overall seed (so the equivalent of 2 seed losing in the first weekend of the hoops tourney)

Same pitt, different sport

Footbaw stuff...

- Nothing official yet, but lots of chatter online today has said Pitt is bound for the Quick Lane Bowl against Western Michigan. That game is Dec. 26 at 8pm. Some others have also said Military Bowl in Annapolis vs. Temple. That game is Dec. 27 at noon.

While neither game will excite mostly anyone - especially given where this team was and what they were potentially looking at after the UNC win - I would think either of these would finally allow Narduzzi to get the bowl win monkey off his game this year. Given that the defensive side of the ball has a number of players with legitimate NFL potential, I realize exactly what I'm saying here. I also recognize that there is at least some likelihood that Pitt could lose either of these two matchups, especially given the offense's propensity for crapping all over itself this season and Narduzzi's repeated struggles with his teams coming out flat and unfocused in bowl games.

- Potentially really good 'crootin news: Seemingly out of nowhere last night, Rivals 4-star WR Bryan Robinson posted a top five on Twitter that included Pitt among FSU, Bama, Florida, and Maryland. Robinson is ranked 122nd nationally overall by Rivals. Rumor is that he wanted to wait to see who FSU brought in so the Norvell hire may hurt a little there, but Panther Lair is reporting that he's maintained a really good relationship with Beatty and Partridge since before June. He's signing on Dec 18, so we'll know then.

- If they land Robinson and keep everyone else, that would give them four wideouts in this class. Some speculation is that Ayden Henningham would eventually move to DB.

- Also, if they get Robinson and keep Parrish, just give Partridge a blank check at the end of every football season and tell him to fill in the amount he wants. Do this every year until he retires.

- Pitt is pursuing two more transfers out of Florida - grad transfer TE Lucas Krull and OT Chris Bleich. Both reportedly visited Pitt this weekend. Krull is a RS junior whose stats are at least somewhat reflected by the fact that he was behind Kyle Pitts on Florida's depth chart; Pitts was UF's leading receiver. Bleich was a player Narduzzi recruited in the class of 2018; he left UF to reportedly deal with family issues and is looking to get closer to home (he's from eastern PA).

Embarrassing end to the season results in an embarrassing bowl matchup (which they’ll lose). Five years of Narduzzi and we’re in the same **** bowl game as the second year of Chryst’s illustrious tenure. **** joke. FIRE NARDUZZI
