We need more players that play like Toney but with Johnson and McGowens skill

He’s a bum. He belongs on a Stallings team.

Pitt basketball and football programs on probation due to coaching recruiting violations. lol Stallings was trash, cheated and still sucked.

Lost to Clemson and UVA so will need to win out to get to 18 wins13-6 with this left
@ Cuse - toss up, probably L - good matchup with the way Pitt's been hitting from 3 though
@ Duke - L
Miami - W
@ ND - Toss up - I'll say L since on the road
GT - W
Clemson - another toss up being at home - L
@VT - L
@FSU - L
UVA - toss up, I bet they win one of this or Clemson so - W
Cuse - W
@NCST - L
@GT - W
So yeah I can see 18-20 wins being the most likely end result here. Which is fine

At best they will finish 1-2. NC State is hot right now and Boeheim has a hex on Pitt.

Also, good for Tipton, seems like a great kid. But I'm not exactly expecting much

A rundown of early spring footbaw notes so far, courtesy of Jim Hammett tweets:
Kaymar Mimes is listed at TE.
Tre Tipton is back, wearing Aaron Mathews's old #6. NCAA approved him for a sixth year. I know we joke but Tipton is a genuinely good dude and I hope the football gods give him this one good, healthy season. This also means Narduzzi has to wait one more year to have a roster comprised of guys he exclusively recruited; Tipton's return makes him the last Paul Chryst-era commit on the roster.
Grant Carrigan and Jason Collier are officially listed as offensive linemen. No surprises there. If one or both of these guys can make something close to the jump that Brian O'Neill did when he moved to OL, that would be a terrific development. Why? Well,...
OL Jerry Drake and LB Albert Tucker are both no longer on the roster. Both are still on the team but listed under permanent medical scholarships so they no longer count against the scholarship total. This effective ends their college careers. I'm not terribly surprised to hear this with Tucker. This kind of sucks to hear with Drake because I was holding out hope that maybe he'd finally put it together.
Numbers for Early Enrollees
2 - Israel Abanikanda
3- Jordan Addison
7- Lucas Krull
16 - Joey Yellen
27 - Buddy Mack
34 - Solomon DeShields
44- AJ Roberts
81 - Aydin Henningham
Also Collier is wearing 50 and Carrigan 70.

- So no more football for Drake and Tucker? Given that Drake made the two-deep as a freshman and Tucker played in 9 games as a redshirt freshman, that kinda sucks.
- Happy for Tipton as well. Good to have depth.
- I don't care what the roster said or where he lined up on the field, Carrigan was never a TE. Collier is up to 315 from last year's listed weight of 285. Wonder if we see him make a move on the OL two-deep.
Big movers at other positions.:
- Marquis Williams is up to 175, which is good because he's a tiny dude.
- Camp up 10 pounds to 295.
- Bam Brima up to 260.
- Devin Danielson hit 300.
- Rashad Wheeler apparently embraced the FB role and is down 20 pounds to 260. Came to Pitt at 290.
- Leslie Smith up 15 pounds to 210. He definitely needed to add some weight.
- SirVocea Denis up to 230.
- Cam Bright down 10 pounds to 215. Maybe trying to gain some quickness?
- KSP down to 220. Heisman incoming.
- Daniel Carter up 10 to 230. Gonna eat himself into that FB position they oddly put him in last year.
- Vincent Davis 5 up to 175.
- Will Gipson up to 190.

Chris Peak at PL shared some notes from practice today. Disclaiming all of this because it's football in shorts and helmets, but here you go:
1. I realize this is clearing an incredibly low bar but for the first time in about four years, Pitt may actually have a player that can legitimately contribute at TE. Lucas Krull has made a pretty favorable early impression on those who have seen practice. Peak said he moves very, very well for his size.
2. Peak also singled out Jordan Addison and Israel Abanikanda as players who really stood out to him. He said you don't have to watch Addison for long at all to see how talented he is.
3. A few names to watch inside the trenches are Matt Goncalves on the o-line and Kalijah Clancy on the defensive line. Goncalves has been worked into the rotation behind Carter Warren at LT. I've seen more than a few posts at PL over the last month or so mention his name as a younger player to watch for as early as this year. Apparently, he plays with a pretty mean streak. Jim Hammett at PL said Clancy appears to have also gotten noticeably bigger and leaner, comparing his change to the same sort of thing we saw Jaylen Twyman go through.
4. Peak said Daniel Carter is still lining up mostly at FB but hinted that we may see him much involved as a ball-carrier in that role this season.
5. Correction on Tipton - He's on the roster but he's not actively practicing because he hasn't officially been granted the 6th-yr waiver yet. They expect it to happen, but he's not actually practicing until it's finalized.

Bigger disappointment: Pitt football 2019 or Pitt hoops 2019-2020?
At this point I say the hoops team, which is saying a lot, because the football season was a real bummer, man.
